The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

On ssn right now henry and redkrapp are giving their views of the upcoming season - naturally they talked about our lack of signings and henry was incredulous that vardy turned us down. He said that he respects that vardy decided to stay with Leicester but he said that this was Arsenal that were looking to sign him - he said that back a few years ago if we tried to sign a player they would def sign for us, and he asked what it said for the club that we couldn't entice him to join

Whilst I agree it is ludicrous to see a Leicester player turning down Arsenal, I think there might be more to it than just "we are not the big draw we once were" tbh - in this single case anyway. I have a sneaking suspicion that Vardy is very much the big fish in the little pond, like Le Tiss was at Saints. He probably feels he would be "found out" to a certain degree at a bigger more high pressured club like Arsenal. Vardy is a singular issue; he's coming towards the end of his career, he had one great season, no other big clubs appeared to have been in for him, and he is probably comfortable with his one PL medal and being Johnny Big Bollocks at Leicester. That's his choice.

Now, before the usual morons chip in with "you are an AKB" because I don't just blame Wenger solely for the failure to sign Vardy, I'll also say that (if you leave Vardy aside) I agree we are not drawing the big name players to us under Wenger - and that is a huge problem. :|

I think the only reason Wenger wont splash the cash and strengthen is because if he blew the budget on top qualidee and we still flopped as we all know we would anyway then he'd be found out as the massive fraud that we know he is,not spending always gives him an excuse why we come up short every season, this must raise doubts he has in his own ability,im guessing he knows we wouldn't win the title but the fact that we play attractive football (really?) is justification for him being in the job.we all know that investing in quality will pay for itself, big money players will win big games and win trophies which brings in money, the club wouldn't be at a loss spending big as the bigger picture is that it would breed sucesss resulting in an even more inflated profit,Wenger wont do it cos he knows it would be a massive cluster fuck if he went mad and spent £150m in the transfer market,we would still be fighting for a top 4 place, where would he hide then

If we were any other club, and if we had any other manager, I’d be gobsmacked if we didn’t recruit a suitable centre-half before the season’s opener.

Arsenal and Wenger, in particular, have form in leaving us as short as fucking possible in this area though.

I think you'll find that kd Lang (the original one) had her "dangerous" summer too - bouncing around on cock, snorting Colombian marching powder (and balls), rapping like a retard, all that good shit. But then the comforting aroma of scampy proved too strong a lure to resist and before you could say "a mouthful of hay keeps the doctor at bay" she was a lezzer again! 8)

Allegedly etc.

‘I personally believe the only way to be a manager is to spend the club’s money as if it were your own because if you don’t do that you’re susceptible to too many mistakes,’

‘You make big decisions and I believe you have to act like it’s your own money, like you’re the owner of the club and you can identify completely with the club.

‘Because if you don’t do that I think you cannot go far.’
And there you have it folks.....how many times on here has it been said that he thinks it's his own money?

This is a never ending nightmare I can't wake up from :banghead:
