The ''no one is coming'' Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Another former player turned cowardly pundit
Listening to his interview yesterday, he really is the king of generalised criticisms. He goes on about lack of signings, but never names the guy who makes fuck all signings. He shouldn't be a pundit, if he cant call Wenger out, even on the most basic things.
THBW14 suits SlySports' tepid "nice" take on the modern game. We are talking about a channel that has employed an absolute arsetard like Jamie "My dad's a manager" Redkunt as an expert pundit ffs!  A gobshite whose analytical powers don't extend beyond "The little man passed it to the big man" and "They're a great team, and he's a great manager, and they have a great striker, and they might do great". :x

5 days before the start of the season and still no defender or striker signed, the way this club is run from top to bottom is shambolic.

I said earlier in the summer that Stones for 50 million would be the greatest swindle in the history of the game. I see he's actually gone for 47.5 million so I'm going to retract that statement now and say it's the only the second ever biggest swindle after Sterling went for 49 million last year.

The hype machine is responsible for at least 40 million of his fee, guy's a total liability defensively and was abysmal for Everton last year. Can't believe Pep has given the green light for that transfer,

Stones and Pogba - two of the most over-rated players in the history of the game. :rubchin:

But Johhny fucking Evans? Just plain shitness personified. Honestly, if we sign Johnny fucking Evans football can go and stick its bastard head right into a dead tramp's arsehole and inhale the fetid shitness of its own rank subjugation.

To be honest I would take mangala from citeeh before I would take johnny fcuking evans  I know mangala has been a total failure at citeeh, but he is still young enough to maybe improve, but johnny evans is no rookie and has been shit for almost a decade now   This isn't me advocating signing managala, but saying that johnny evans should be down at the bottom of the potential signings list

Btw, I know that I am very much in the minority here, but I really believe that stones has the ability to be a top, top defender - he is pacy, good on the ball and isn't afraid in the tackle. Positioning awareness and focus is the weaknesses in his game and if he gets proper coaching then I think he will be as good a top tier centre back

But at the moment, based on his actual performances (mostly gack) you'd have to agree that Stones is vastly over-rated, no? :rubchin:

The single greatest sentence ever structured by man was penned on Arseblog today, cast your eyes on this absolute beauty -
Sure, we don’t have the hugely experienced Per Mertesacker or Gabriel through injury. That’s a big blow. However, we do have Calum Chambers and Rob Holding

I'm a Martinez fan as you know, but his dedication to the defensive side of the game, appears to be on a par with arsole's tactical awareness  Stones looked a real player under moyes and can be that again - yes he is very much overpriced (isn't every English prodidgy  ) but unlike ali and barkley, I believe that he has real quality potential and therefore the end price should reflect that (but of course it will be mostly paid up front)

Best horseshit rumour yet:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ed-8591761

As if Wenger will trade his first born child Giroud and admit he got it wrong and Giroud isn't a top top striker? My arse he will.

I'm just waiting now for Wenger to chirp up with something along the lines of "I'm sorry Holding didn't cost £47.5m" after we bravely shut-out Wycombe in the 4th round of the Cup.

£47.5m for Stones.

I can't tackle, can't head - but I can pass. Think I'll get my CV in the post to City...

Going to Everton by all accounts......
