As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
When the transfer window has ended can someone print this thread wrap it round a cardboard cylinder and send it to wenger/gazidis with wrapping entitled the 2016 summer transfer bog roll. They can have a good read before they come out with the next pile of poo.

You’re serious, aren’t you?
If Henry won’t criticize Wenger out of some misplaced ‘loyalty’ then he should find alternative employment. He’s taken the Sky money, and if I were a punter I would expect him to call it as it is.
Either every single ex-Arsenal pundit thinks Wenger is doing a great job, or they’re afraid to call him out. Either way it makes their opinions suspect at best and disingenuous at worst.
Henry (legend, love the bloke) is as fair game as any of the others who won’t say what they really think.

How is he stuck in the middle? He doesn't work for AFC. He works for Sky.
The job of a pundit is to offer truthful opinions and insights on the game. Not telling the truth because you're mates with somebody or feel loyalty to a player or club is dishonest and a dereliction of your responsibilities.
Someone like Souness is willing to strongly criticise players and clubs he is associated with. Even Carragher does. Neville's a bit more reticent but still more forthright than TH14.

It's hardly Henry bashing, to suggest he isn't doing his job properly. Its rather laughable, listening to him, trying to criticise things, but attributing zero blame to the guy in charge. No one is suggesting he should call for Wenger to go, but he could criticise some of his decisions. Hypothetically, if Giroud ends up injured, and we have no one to replace him, should Henry stay quiet, and not point out how shambolic it is from the manager? Henry is a legend, but I have no time for his spineless attempts at being a pundit.

It's not that simple. If TH14 has aspirations to manage the club then he isn't openly going to criticise Wenger or anyone else at Arsenal. It's football politics.

At the risk of repeating myself: if Henry is not prepared to criticize Arsene or Arsenal then he should find another job where he won't have to. It is that simple.

You think Henry would give up a well paid job as a pundit to satisfy the posters on here lmao. Football has no morals/ethics they died years ago.

would you criticise publicly a former boss who is a good friend and make him look a twat after everything he'd done for you and In the process ostracise yourself from a lot of your good friends and a place you love??no thought not, nobody in their right mind would,i don't get some peoples mentality ,seriously jeez
If we are in a losing position in the game on Sunday, I hope the crowd belt out "Spend some f*cking money" a score of times louder than they did against Villa in 2013.
We have the manager, who doesn't have a plan, and a board that keeps quiet. A shambles of a 'top class' football club. It's absolutely pathetic and I am unfortunately getting to the stage I didn't want to reach, to see Wenger humiliated and leave in disgrace. Part of me wants this season to be an absolute disaster, to ensure change happens. I can live for now with the present board (although they are far from perfect obviously) but a change in manager is essential.

I actually hope they don't because if things go wrong and he gets pressure from the fans he'll trolley dash to save the VT, if the fans don't get on his back too early things could actually get worse and he may end up as a deer in the headlights and really screw up this transfer window.
When it slams closed and he's still scrabbling around to find players he could be seriously embarrassed, and the season could go badly enough for him (i know i'm dreaming but you never know) that he finds himself unable to sign the extension.

Ozil and Sanchez won't stand for this. By all accounts Ozil challenged Wanker in training last season about the lack of signings and told him he had left the team short. How can he sit there and watch big name players sign for other clubs and fuck all come our way and feel positive about the season? He'll be gone by this time next year, off to City or Bayern. The next Van Persie, bored and fed up of not winning the big things.

TH14 can't need the money, so why's he there?
For the attention - I don't care who disagrees with me on this, but henry has always been about henry. Despite winning a shed load of trophies with us, he legged it to barca the very minute he felt that we were no longer gonna challenge for the big trophies. Remember his treatment of reyes when a young prince threatened to take his crown ? People with hiv have been shunned and made an outcast less than reyes was by henry
I don't mind him fcuking off to barca back then, but to listen to some of our fans, you would think that he bleeds Arsenal
GranadaJoe wrote:Ashley Williams and Wilfried Bony wouldn't top my list of desirable signings, but for a combined 25 - 27 million they'd definitely make us stronger.
It's blatantly obvious that we won't make any "big name" signings but even this level of player would be something. I wanted Bony when he went to city, and still think he could do a job for us. Not a massive fan of Williams but he's prem ready and better then our current options... a decent short term solution.
