As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

there are no excuses for this - we HAD to buy a CB and a striker and we haven't. Embarrassing.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Not only should we have got new CB / striker but should have sold Feo & Chambers. Not looking forward to this one 1 - 2, hope I'm wrong.

In fairness to Stevie I, he USED to come on and debate quite eloquently the merits of Wenger and AFC and stood his ground in the face of, by and large, the majority of forum members on here. He was able to give what he perceived as valid arguments that no other AKB was able or willing to put forward. At the time I remembered thinking 'fair fucks, at least he can go further than the usual, careful what you wish for, who else blah blah ' crap and at least added an intelligent dissenting voice to what is probably the most vocal anti Wenger forum.
That said, he was still talking bollocks .............but reasoned bollocks, and had the bollocks to do so as opposed to the others who came out with the usual rhetoric and disappeared over the Online Gooner horizon once called out on it,and who at this stage are probably major contributors to the likes of 'Untold Arsenal '
Suppose every forum needs healthy debate and he to me, was one of the few if any that had a shot of it. With each passing year, this forum becomes more one sided, whether it's because more and more give into the realisation that the problem lies with Wenger or can no longer stomach losing a debating fight that is harder to justify. Think the 'I'm a real fan ' response is a poor reflection of what he has wrote previously and possibly reflects the latter.
Not sure what Steve I expected though with a flying visit to this place though course we're all gloomy fuckers in here, three days into the 'Good News for Arsenal supporters ' thread, there's not one positive post in there
Cheers. I pop in when drunk, usually. No motivation other than that. Gave up trying to debate here a while ago. The debate is cyclical and the consensus here will not be changed in the near future.
My arguments remain as ever they were; to my mind quite clear and rational. I'll stand by what I've always said and have yet to see anything to change my views.
Regarding this particular thread, apologies for going off on a tangent with my initial (what I thought to be) lighthearted comment.
The Liverpool game is a challenging opener but I think we will edge it.
ONE ARSENE WENGER.......THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER
Yay! Really must try and say hello this season.
I've tried to work out who you might be on occasion. Think you said one row from back near middle?
On the numerous occasions when the STs I know can't make it, that's where I'll be. Reckon the first 2 defeats to Liverpool and Leicester and you'll see me there in early September
If the scousers don't leave our place with 3pts on sunday, then their fans should be seriously concerned - our defence is an absolute mess at the mo, and a team with real aspirations should be punishing that.
I seriously hope we get a tonking, but being realistic I am expecting a score draw or a 2-1 win

It will also be a good test of whether Klopp is the genius he is made out to be. Any manager worth their salt would be looking at Chambers and Holding / Coquelin at CB and licking their lips and encouraging their team to push forward at every opportunity. Anything other than 3 points for them this weekend is a poor result against the worst CB pairing in the league
Does anyone know who the captain of Arsenal football club is? Have we even got one? 3 days out from the start of the season and I'm not sure we do, apart from the 11 captains who will take the pitch according to Wanka

What a rudderless, leaderless mess we've become.
Back in July there was shite in the media speculating it would be the Big Cowardly Vagina. If that happens I will throw up all over the fucking place.
Yeah there was talk early on of the non jumping German, then Cech and finally Kos. The it all went quiet and here we are on the cusp of the new season with no captain at all. Another Wenger legacy to Arsenal - the complete devaluation of the captaincy.

Alex Song.
Or Arsene Wenger.
I'm still haunted by the memory of him giving the captaincy to below average almunia (albeit just for a few games) - it was bad enough having the useless c.unt as first choice keeper, but seeing the fool walk out with the captains armband was embarrassing to me. Just imagine that the only reason we had the crunt in the club in the first place, was because celta vigo owed us money for silvinho (he of the dodgy passport ) and because they were broke at the time, they threw this clown at us to clear the debt

You can even have it for a day to celebrate a decade of underachieving and living off your "potential".

Per Mertesacker
Arsenal are now starting a new tradition whereby the captain of the team has to be permanently injured, to give them time to weigh up a move away from the club.

Liverpool will get about them from the off, a lot of high tempo pressing.....keep them under pressure and let the nerves build....be surprised if Liverpool come away with nothing
