So this is how Arsenal fans are to one another?
I've lost count to the number of people who have abused me - why? Because I have an opinion just as much as yours?
First of all, you say I'm not a real fan as I have 10 season tickets? Interesting theory, care to elaborate? Can I not take my dad, brother, sister, son, the whole family to the games? Maybe pass by and say hello - Block 14, 15 and 3 and 46. I am happy to shake your hand and take whatever sh*t you have face to face.
Someone also mentioned that I am a shit manager? Hmmmm.
If you run a business and you have a manager that MAKES YOU money, are you going to complain? Surely, you are going to be happy? So as a business owner, why would you get rid of your manager?
Same principle here. Wenger makes money. It is a simple as that. He has a job to make money for the owners.
We are constantly top 4 - yes we all want to see silverware, there is no denying that. But try seeing it from a business point of view - that is my point. Unless of course you don't have a business, then fair play.
I joined the forum thinking I would get good discussions from it, but f*ck me, there are some serious twats here.
IMHO, Wenger is a good manager for the club. Not necessarily for the fans, but for the club. Yes, maybe his course has run and we need fresh life, but there is no way I would want a manager who just buys success - we would end up being like Chelsea and City - buy our way to success and that isn't what Arsenal is about... or is my opinion going to get berated with abuse again.
Why do AKB's always revert to the worst case scenario to defend Wenger? Why would our next manager automatically have to be a Moron-hio type that has to spend crazy money to buy success? You think there is no middle ground? You think it couldn't be a manager that will spend a reasonable amount to strengthen his team?
Also, I didn't say you were not a real fan because you have 10 ST's. I said "You think having 10 season tickets makes you a genuine fan? It doesn't." As in, there's more to it than that.
Lastly, what you got was hardly abuse. A couple of name callings, which is no big deal, but mostly people picking apart a post that many genuine lifelong Arsenal fans would find offensive. We are not a business. We are a football club. Our football manager should only concern himself with the football team. Nothing else. He should ask the board for as much money as he can get to buy players and the board (and they alone) should decide how much money gets released - the manager then does what he can with that money to build a squad. What a ludicrous concept it is whereby a football manager is told there are funds available, then he looks at the cost of a player and decides not to pursue that player based on his own economic assessment of the cost!

The football manager does not have the responsibility of ensuring the financial future of the club! That rests with the owners and directors.
Praising our business acumen is the equivalent of a motoring pundit praising the garage that houses a Ferrari.
