THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why is it only the Arsenal players that played in the Euros are rested for the start games?

I had been question this throughout the pre-season friendlies thread - not alone have almost all played this weekend but many took part in pre-season friendlies for their clubs  For me this is just another example of wenker pampering his players, and another reason why they all love him

I absolutely detest this prick now. All he achieved in the first 7-8 years means less to me every year.
How can I feel such opposite emotions toward someone I once adored??
Please, if you have any self respect or love for the club, please just fuck off.

Most surprising thing today for me was the fact that he did not start with Xhaka.

Have we bought a £30 million dud?

Dead wood.

Mediocre players. Why didn't we pay the money and get a defender, a striker and a decent winger. Seriously, what the fuck is going on. Pedro at Chelsea would have been cool. Any winger with more brain than Theo.

Kosc wasn't playing because he was in the final of the euros. Do me a favour. 80k a week and you can't do 90 minutes for us. Instead we have two centre backs who can't kick properly.

Alexis up top? Is he mad?!!

Sorry guys for the outburst but he is a fucking dick head and we need a new manager. Badly.

Flip flop..............real fans have patience you know.

Maybe throw your 12 season tickets on the pitch as a protest ?

Emirates fan reaction one win and all will be back onside :barscarf: TO1AW..... :barscarf: :barscarf:

Since we started visiting other countries for commercial reasons, we've not won an opening day fixture. I'm not giving him and excuse, I'm just waiting for it.
It's poor poor planning to not have all your players back on time for start of the season.

Not the travelling but close...apparently was the Euros as below.......

Physically, we are not ready. You are in a catch 22 situation with the Euros," Wenger told reporters.

'We are not ready'. Great, so the start gun has gone, and Arsene is still on his knees tying his shoe laces.

Failing to get in shape per-season is a prerequisite for any professional sports team. He finds new ways to frustrate and leave the fans exasperated.

The job he is doing is horrible. Its gross incompetence. Wenger is not just an arrogant manager, he is a fuking shit manager.

We are not ready....who is to fucking blame for that ?????

the wanker who gets £8 MILLION a year for doing just that, but prefers to top up his wages in France working for TV, signing just one player of note in a position we did not desperately need????

How the FUCK did Arsenal get in this situation, SAYING THIS NOW this wanker WILL still be here next Season

enough is enough, seriuosly how much longer can we let this shit continue? Arsenal are like a wounded animal waiting to be put out of its misery.i have an idea for a protest which the stewards wont be able to do much about, what if everybody starts singing 'theres only one Georgie Graham' I feel this would be a massive kick in then in the nuts to Wenger and a timely reminder that Arsenal existed long before 'he built the club with his own hands'. in Wengers eyes pre Wenger there was nothing, what a massive insult it would be to hear GG's name ringing out and it would let him know we want him gone, the stewards wont be able to do fuck all about it

as long as wenger stays in charge the club wont progress and the people in charge dont seem worried, all they care about is money coming in and having 100s of millions in the bank, wenger is a dictator at the club,no one can fire him , he looked a fraile old man in his interview after the game ,looked lost as if he couldnt understand why his team lost, he lives in a different world ffs, sad as this is but a big part of me wants them to finish outside the top four this season so wenger wont give able to give himself a new contract .

The thing that really sickens me is the Media reaction....

something like......."60 minutes into the new season and Arsenal fans already in meltdown"

just taking the piss from Man Utd and Liverpool reporters in the media.....Everton fans had a sympathetic response last year

Thats what really winds me up. When he gets off his chair and struts toward the byline with a bewildered look on his face. He cant believe whats going on, even though it has happened so many times before, that he shouldn't really be surprised.

Also, the concept of Chambers and Holding playing together was something that was flagged as something that shouldn't be risked. So why look confused and surprised when they are unable to cope with a onslaught by one of the best teams in the league?

I would in the past have always had a go at someone for saying that tbh. I always defended every Gooner's right to their point of view and would never have questioned their loyalty to the club. But now tbh I think I agree with you. I can't see how anyone can still believe that he is the right man for the job. They have to be Arsene fans not Arsenal fans. There is no other conclusion... :|

Agree with all the above...except Liverpool comment IMO not accurate and detracts from the situation at Arsenal

Most Premiership teams would have beaten Arsenal on Saturday
