This time it'll be Ozil and Sanchez that realise they've been sold a crock of shite and will bail.
Ultimately I cant blame them, but holding onto a manager that cannot hold on to players is criminal, the horrible fear is that its the grim reaper alone that can release us from footballing purgatory....sadly not for many year to come I suspect!!
May 2012 - I have always thought that RVP deserved to be treated much better from Arsenal supporters. I certainly will never hate the guy.
from that moment on my support for Wenger ended and I became a full on WOB (but Kroenke could still ultimately be a bigger problem)

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Part of me wants the season to never recover, just to make it impossible for Wenger to sign a new deal. The fans need to stop the delusion, and realise we are going to have to purge the club to get rid of Wenger.
Its certain Ozil and Sanchez will leave at the end of the year, both are in their final two years and neither will sign an extension. The club will sell rather than losing them on a free the following season.
Although, part of me fears Wenger will sign a new deal and the club will rationalize it by citing the need for 'stability' now having to rebuild following Ozil and Sanchez's departure. They are very inventive when it comes to this sort of thing. Just think back to announcing the Welbeck injury after the transfer window closed.
But surely Wenger and the board must realise the club is at an impasse. Their is a toxic atmosphere at Arsenal, it stems from our distrust of the manager and team. There is no faith, or belief, and nor should their be, we have been let down so many times before, its not worth getting emotionally invested in the team when you know they will let you down. The toxic atmosphere will not leave absent a new manager. The healthy thing to do, is for Wenger to leave at the end of the season. If he tries to stay on, all it will do is continue the grim and anxiety ridden atmosphere at the club. There is no justification or rationale for Wenger staying beyond this season. If he signs a new deal, it is comparable to a sick joke.
And you know what, its not just the right thing to do for Arsenal, but how can Wenger be happy and get joy from this? His own fans are resenting him in large numbers, and he must be sick of the same repetitive let downs just as much as we are. Why would he want to continue the misery for himself? It cant be good for a 67 year old to be jeered so often by his own fans. Its like a marriage between two people who hate each others - been together so long, but stay together despite both being miserable, just because its been 20 years.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
When boss Arsene Wenger was asked for an update on the talks between Arsenal and stars Özil and Sanchez, the Frenchman insisted there was no cause for concern.
“We keep that internal” he told Sky Sports, “We make progress always, but it is not always a quick process. They still have two years [left on their] contracts and there is no urgency as well.
“They (Arsenal fans) have no reason to be concerned. At the moment we have priorities, and most of the time contract extensions are done outside the transfer window because it gives you a bit more time and focus on that.”
Really??????
More time to focus on the transfer window.......and do what with all that extra time???????
Fucking defies belief
And to cap it all Inter are now after Sanchez
My advice to him is simple.........just go! Just go and try to win something to look back on your career in years to come. You'll win fuck all if you stay.

He will stay on. The board will offer him a new deal, he will take it.
I can't see the board not offering him a new contract. Any new manager (if we can attract anyone decent) coming in would cut out a load of dead wood (not worth much), and want to spend at least 100-200m on new players to build the team their way, much as Klopp, Maureen and Pep have started doing. I just can't see the board doing that, and allowing that sort of spend.

Then he has that one great season and SUDDENLY he now has the fucking cheek to question the club's ambition??? Like he had been contributing season after season of huge effort?? Are you fucking joking?? Fuck that. If any cúnt owed the club loyalty, the club that paid him MILLIONS whilst he sat on his fucking arse, the club that didn't cut him loose when no one would have signed him, then it was that Judas cúnt. And we should now act like he did it for us? Like he was morally right in what he did? No fucking way. Cut that shit out right there.

This is in no way a defence of Wenger before any idiot tries that on - this is purely a criticism of the cúnt VanJudas. The Wenger hatred (whilst totally understandable and justified in itself) can get ridiculous on here in the way it provokes some of the stuff posted. Using just any old stick to beat Wenger just cheapens the argument against him.
I have no problem with players leaving, no problem really with the fact 99% of modern players are selfish mercenary cúnts - that's the modern game, like it or not - but I do have a problem with people lauding a treacherous cúnt like VanJudas as if what he did was morally right. Get a grip on yourselves ffs.

A lesser mod (Spuddy, REB, or g88ner) would ban the three of you!

In fairness......now hear me out
Isnt rvp the only one to disclose the fact that he'd had a chat with le fraud and what he heard didn't sound good so off he went. I know others have left and said nothing but doesn't RVP get a little credit for the suggestion that if le fraud was going to bring in the players to compete RVP would have stuck around?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
TBH I'm sure RVJC did look at the situation and think "this guy Wenger is fucked, I'm outa here". But for me he owed us more than any player in our history (except Death Knees Diabyxgtdec wrote:In fairness......now hear me out![]()

If half way through his 9 years on our treatment table he'd questioned the club's ambition, and risked his 100K a week, then I'd have lauded him and respected him forever. But that's not what the dirty cúnt did...

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I think expecting loyalty in modern day football is just silly. RVP sat down with Wenger, and Wenger showed he had fuck all ambition. So RVP was left with two choices. (a) stay in the never ending 4th place cycle, and win fuck all, or (b) join a team with actual title aspirations. In fairness, he achieved more in the couple of seasons he spent at united, then we have as a club, in over a decade. The idea that he should have somehow shown loyalty to a club that had zero ambition is laughable, especially when you consider, nearly everyone on here, was criticising our lack of ambition, up until he left.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
What also really pissed me off with RVP. Was i bought his signed poppy match shirt. Now its forgotten somewhere in the spare room Bastard!! That cost me a lot of money

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Absolute horseshit. If any other player from that team (the ones that had earned the right by playing) had questioned the club's ambition I'd say fair fucks, but not that cúnt. You paint him (the bit in red) as if he was some kind of Honest John, and that the only issue was on the club's side, when in reality, he was a hypocrite. I ask you again; why did he not question the club's ambition during his years sitting on the treatment table?BFG4 wrote:I think expecting loyalty in modern day football is just silly. "Expecting" loyalty might seem silly to you, but demanding it is not - not to me anyway. I have no idea how old you are, but in my generation, you earned the right to do something, you demonstrated loyalty, you contributed, you earned the right to have an opinion, you weren't entitled to it. But it's now right for a player that has contributed fuck all to dictate things?? Fuck that.

To excuse disloyalty like it's nothing smacks of everything that stinks about modern football - something nearly everyone on here has criticised for years...
