LEICESTER AWAY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I got up at 2.30 am on a freezing morning to watch Feo ponce around for 90 minutes. To leave Cockollin on the pitch for the whole game was mad he should have got a second yellow. To finish the game with Jack, Feo & le lampost on the pitch just about says how pathetic we are as an attacking force. They were robbed x 2. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Kos brilliant, Xhaka looked good. Ozil good cameo.

Rest were shit.

I fucking hate Wenger more than I've ever hated a single person in my life. I would post how I really feel about him, and what I wish were to happen to him, but it would get me banned from the forum.

I've got to say that hearing the fans chanting we want him out is a massive watershed moment. I'm not sure it was the whole of the away end but it doesn't matter, it was a huge moment.

Glad I missed all of the above (apart from the fans giving Shit for Brains a tough time)

Quite therapeutic not watching our substandard, under prepared dickheads going through the motions

Didn't watch the game (*)- were they singing/ chanting that during or after the game ?

(*) Long time tasks got done:

Cleared out the garden shed - and no that is not a euphemism!

Replaced the damaged Clothes Line in Back Garden (Have sent the old one to Wenger to see if he has a use for it)

Cleaned the Fish Pond - Two more fish that I thought was in there ??? :? :? :?

Painted the Garden Shed

Yup! didn't finish till after MOTD had finsihed so not tempted to watch that ceeeunnttt sit on his arris on the touch line and get £32k for les than fuckall.

Now THAT is a Result. :barscarf:

We were pretty shite. But so are Leicester. Looking more and more like Wankglove Vardy had his "Rob Lee" season last season and we actually might have dodged a bullet there. If they get top half of the table it will be a result for them tbh.

Kos was our MOTM. How the Giant Cowardly Pussy was given the armband over him is anyone's guess...  Holding looked quite good. Not great but a million miles better than the Coward and hopefully will develop beside Kos.

Ox looked good-ish. Was in and out of the game but at least he looked to drive at them and not get too bogged down in the tippy tappy shite - that's him dropped then.

Xhaka was ok and hopefully more from him when he adjusts to the pace of the PL. Ozil showed what a bit of class and guile look like but one player with brains and vision is not enough.

The rest? From pretty ropy to shit. Cech made a couple good saves but he does not look as commanding or as confident as he did last season and is now looking pretty well past his sell-by date tbh. I think he will concede a few this season.

Outrageous Fee-oh was beyond shite. How in the name of fuck is he being paid £140K per year - never mind per week!! :x Giroud looked extremely ring rusty. Coq is becoming a liability and a red waiting to happen - he should have got one on Saturday. Sanchez looks either burnt out or totally demotivated - or both! Monreal looks ropy too and his crossing has gone the way of Jelly Legs Gibbs.

The penno that they didn't get was a penno. It was also a clever bit of "playing for the penno" by their lad. Watch it again - he throws his leg in front of Bellerin, drawing the contact and the foul. It's not cheating as the onus is then on the defender not to make contact but it is a clever old striker's trick. Bit worrying that Bellerin would still fall for that at this stage in his career... :|

I also took offence at their manager being up on his feet giving instructions. Borderline cheating if you ask me. :censored: :x

I might just get through this season if it is his last.

He signs an extension for a minute longer than his current contract then I'm finished with Arsenal for the time being :(

I think for a lot of fans, Wenger has ruined supporting the club, or at the very least, ruined the passion many had for the club. There was a time when I couldn't miss a game, I always wanted to see us play, but now, it wont bother me too much, if I miss a game. I also went over a good few times to games every season, but cant be arsed anymore. The idea of sitting in that soulless bowl, with a bunch of tourists, and them smiling and taking pictures, after we have conceded a goal, just angers me. God forbid, anyone at the game, shows a bit of passion, they will be stared at, like they are from another planet. The modern day version of this club, is not what I grew up supporting.

I think you are spot on. I sell my ticket for most home games (so thanks to the tourists for that) for the same reasons and go to a lot more aways instead.
Not only is it usually a good day out win or lose but you are amongst genuine supporters (apologies to those same supporters who can't go to away games but you get my meaning).
Exactly lads!

From a personal point of view as I am only 20 years old this is the only Arsenal I have witnessed first-hand.

My dad has been a Gooner for 53 years so he has educated me on the history of this great club so I know what Arsenal are and always have been and what is going on just now just isn’t Arsenal. We only first started going to games when the emirates was built as only then could we get tickets. In 2006 it was all new to me and I was only 10 so I didn’t take much notice of anything other than seeing my favourite players Henry , Fabregas etc. playing in the flesh.

Nowadays I simply don’t want to travel hundreds of miles down to London to watch the shower of shit we are offered year in year out … paying north of £250 to do so.

I feel absolutely no connection with most of the fans down there anymore and If I went I’d only be shouting drunk Wenger out chants and end up in trouble so all in all not worth it.

We now just stick to the closer away games such as Sunderland , Newcastle and this year Middlesbrough … better laugh at away games and not as many Wenger lovers in general.

Should've been at Leicester Saturday. You wouldn't have been alone by a long way. :D
