In 2015, UK farmers received almost €3.1bn (£2.4bn) in direct payments, according to the NFU.

Honestly I didn't think I had to debunk the £350m per week as I thought even the brexiteers had admitted it was a complete lie but any way,

Eustice is a minister of the government and is under an obligation not to lie. ROFL. He is not an NFU representative. The above quoting is shit, but it is clear that there is no £350m, Brexit lied and what there is is going to farmers not the NHS. Brexit lied.

We have PR here in Oireland and it is not the flawless system some would try and have you believe. It can lead to extremist parties and idiot crackpot parties getting a foothold on power. It also often leads to useless, weak and indecisive coalition governments getting elected - something Oireland has a long history of. The knock on effect of PR putting coalition governments into power so often is things like improvements to public services are often almost impossible to implement under such weak coalition governments.

I read somewhere that If the last UK general election had been held under a PR system, UKIP would have been the third-largest party in your parliament, with 83 seats instead of 1. Could you imagine Adolf Farage having power like that?

If you mean that since the 50's more voters have cast their vote against the party with the majority of seats then you are right. However that is not the way our democracy works . Effectively since the second world war we have only had 2 votes that have had clear majorities . The first was the join the EEC trading agreement and the second leave the E.U political block. If you took the political rule from Brussels and Strasbourg out of the equation and went back to pure trade the vote would probably have been the other way. The silent majority of Brexit voters did not want the European super state or army that is on the cards ,it's the more vocal that get drawn into the immigration debate often by those that wish to make political capital from them.

Not sure I agree with that - it's a fairy basic and fundamental distinction. The reality is that at General Elections 65+% of people vote Labour or Conservative. FPTP benefits those parties.

Would be interesting to see how PR would work for UK but I think in the short to medium term it would be very difficult. Our political system is used to a majority government and the adversarial nature is probably far more of a barrier to effective coalition governing than countries that have traditionally operated by coalition government.
