What would be success this season?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What would be success this season?

Post by Kingralph »

Been lurking on the boards for a few months now but only just registered. There's so much negativity about Wenger, style of play, a lack of signings, the signings we did make, and just about everything else about the club.

Given this, I was interested in what would make you happy (other than Wenger going that is!)? Is it another FA Cup, a league win only or a decent Champs League run?

At the risk of being inflammatory, what would make you look back and be happy with the teams performance this year?

Nothing would make me happy, we wont win the league ever again or win the champs league under Wanker, ive lost interest because of that *word censored*, therefore the only good things that could possibly come from this season is that the *word censored* gets as much shit and abuse and then fucks off in May

Welcome to the forum mate,I don't mean to dis your thread but this will just turn out to be another thread about wenger and we already have 1 of those,so best bet is just post tits and naked ladies

PS ,in no way am I condoning the exploitation of women on here .

In answer to your original post,we won't win the league or the CL ,so I'll take the fa cup and us not finishing in the top 4 as a success ,oh and wenger gone.

I want The Old Fraud gone, but...

I just want us to challenge for the title and the domestic cups. League position between 2nd-17th is unimportant. I don't care about finishing in the top four as that seems to be the main thing the AKB propagandists focus on as 'success' and is a big part of why he's still here five years after he should have been sacked in disgrace.

Enough of this bullshit about prioritizing competitions. We should be trying to win every game!

It'd be nice to win the CL one day, once we get a proper manager in.

If Wenger announces his resignation then it will be the greatest season since 2004

What will be a success? same as every year,
Top 4 and last 16 in CL. Stan - you don't own teams for trophies -K will then trouser a heap of cash and everyone will be happy. Once you realise this you have a choice, find what enjoyment you can watching the Arsenal or turn your back on it, because as long as AW keeps making Stan cash, it's a successful year, and a new contract is going to be offered.

I'm more worried these days about Stan taking a heap of cash out of Arsenal to build a nice new stadium in LA. Success is something I don't expect anymore.....just try to get any enjoyment I can.

It's fucking borderline, mate... borderline...

For me I'd take an FA Cup win as a successful season as I still love the FA Cup and anyone that doesn't can go suck my dick. 8)

In theory, our second place finish last season could on the surface of it be looked upon as a "proper title challenge" and thus deemed an acceptably successful season - unless you look behind the glib AKB shit of statements like that and remember that last year the PL was there for the taking like it never has been before and never will be again. Therefore I personally view last season as a huge failure. :x :|

But tbh the thing that would make me happiest is Wenger going. But unfortunately he won't. He will be here until May 2025. :|

Have to agree that Ospina was our MOTM. 8)

The only thing though with Ospina is how long will that last before he's back to dropping clangers? He is a good keeper but not a great keeper. Cech is a great keeper, now unfortunately on the downward side of his career. :|

But given Cech's start to the season and Ospina's performance last night I'd give Ospina the shout ahead of Cech and see what happens. Will it motivate Ospina and lead to a consistent level of performance? Would it likewise motivate Cech and get him to up his game when/if Ospina fucks the pooch and Cech gets back in? So many questions and still no one has wiped out the entire Kardashian family. :x
