Theres always a Rosey Garden phase of the season where we blast away a few easy teams and everyone gets a wamr fuzzy feeling before we get the Harsh reality phase where our season end up on the windswept jagged rocks of January !
Wengers 2 year extention will have been inked in by then !
Its his Birthday tommorow , I hope we celebrate by giving him a cake and a rendition of happy birthday !

Many point out that he scores only because he gets multiple chances. But finding chances is a skillset, I for one wish Iwobi would find himself in scoring positions more - but he doesnt.

Walcott, he may have obvious limitations, but he has proven he patches where he scores frequently, and until the goals dry up, I wont be criticizing him.
Well that is something that some find difficult to do - when they have a crush on someone.

I would have a go at you for calling out his crush and embarrassing him on a public forum but I just couldn't bring myself to criticise you
Ive said before, that so long as Wenger keeps the current line up, and doesn't try to tinker when Ramsey and Giroud get back, then we have a great chance to win the league this year.

As has been mentioned the minute Ramsey is fit again he will be back in the side :( to fuck with balance in the side or ball retention.Le fartpipe will also find a way to get the hair flicker/sky looker/chance misser/tongue sticker outer  back in the side..That way will probably be an injury to one or more of our attackers caused by lack of rotation.Lets enjoy this run for what it is at the moment,a few wins.We have all the usual obstacles to overcome in the next few weeks/months and im not convinced we will overcome them.

Yes we do, if City don't sort their defence (ala playing clichy in central defence) out and we don't have our usual blow up then we will be champions no doubt.

This team and the way it is set up would have won the league last year. By and large our defence is much more solid than last season, yes we make silly mistakes sometimes but you can't put that all on our defence.

No we don't. As soon as Ramsey and Giroud are fit Wenger will shoe horn them in and that will be our mobility dead in the water. Add to that the fact a lot of our current form is down to Ozil, Sanchez and Walcott (bizarrely I know!) but Ozil and Sanchez will get burned out again and Walcott will have his usual drop in form and/or get injured.

This team would not have won last year's PL because of one thing; Wenger. When we need strengthening in January he always fails to buy in what is required. That happened last year. And will happen again this year.

I will take €20 of anyone's money right now that we will not win the PL this season. Sadly. :( :|

You could say the same thing about the last 5 or 6 seasons (maybe more). The facts are that we do regularly "blow up" around March every year. This is why people want to get rid of Wenger - his inability to sort this out.

Agreed, Wenger done his usual trick of leaving us just short of a PL winning side...still think needed a top class striker
to be fair the squad is stronger Mustafi, Xaha and Perez all look good buys

Yes still getting over the missed opportunity of last year...cannot believe Wenger got off so lightly

We deffo have an improved squad. But as you say we are still without a top class striker. Hopefully Perez might become that but there is zero guarantee. Giroud is a back up striker at best in the current system (or any system bar a 4-4-2 with a top class striker beside him). Sanchez I don't think will hit us 20-25 PL goals which is what we need. I really hope I'm wrong about that but I just have a doubt. Walcott won't get near 20 PL goals as his form will drop like every other year or he'll get injured or both.

Come January, Sanchez will be burning out, Ozil will be frustrated and tired and Walcott's form will be gone. What will Wenger do? Nothing. He will watch Giroud score 2 goals in 10 matches and tell us he is the striker we need. Ramsey will be a starter and frustrating the fuck out of us all. It's so predictable. :(

Ramsey really depends on whether the current first eleven are fit, it's hard to see any position for him as a starter at the moment. Giroud is now a fringe player, definitely not a starter it would take a drop off in form for Walcott and Sanchez for him to be considered. Wenger used a million excuses not to play Giroud after the Euro's, I don't buy he wasn't fit. Everyone else was not only from Arsenal but every other club, perhaps he had a hissy fit when he realised he wasn't first choice any more.

If you are offering to be bookie I will have £100 @6/1 on Arsenal please ;). None of this euros schmeuros business ;).

I am not saying we will win the PL, but we stand as good if not a better chance than last year especially if City have another shit season (although I suspect they possibly wont). The big threat will be Pool in addition to City imo.

Do we have any chance of the Calendar Year Trophy? :barscarf:

This is our twice-yearly purple patch which neatly coincides with some easy fixtures. Only AKB nutters would actually believe we could actually win the league.

It's a shame that Ramsey is such a liability. With some actual coaching and some discipline, he would be a good player (not on the wing, of course).

It looks like the club is sitting on another time-bomb, letting all those contracts run down. It seems likely that the club would rather sell Sanchez and Ozil than pay them the wages they deserve. They have combined several times this season to score goals that our sideways football could never provide in a month of open play.

I guess the 'revelation' that TOF does nothing in training, didn't register on here, as we already know that

222 days until the final-day contract renewal :suicide:

City, United and Chelsea were poor last year yet we still managed to finish way behind Leicester despite beating them twice. If we are still in the hunt by April I might start to believe but we have been let down too many times to get excited about the teams chances. One game at a time...

Agreed mate I've supported the club long enough to know we shouldn't get carried away. Would be fun for DB10 to honour my bet request though :).

Words from Le Boss....

“I never liked the retirement word because we are here to be active and to fight until the last day of your life,” Wenger said.

You guys still sure he will leave at the end of the season....even if it does happen he will still stay in some capacity

Think you are being optimistic of getting odds at 6-1, looked like it was just a straight bet...like for like
