Ps: Et spes est, quia occidit (It is the hope that kills) should now be the Arsenal Motto.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Rubbish performance. The excuse that the 6-0 thrashing of Ludograts led us into a false sense of security is horrible - the manager is supposed to keep players grounded and ready.
Although, watching Man City, I think their will be plenty margin for error regarding whoever wins the league this year.
Tottenham draw to many games, whilst Man City are not a great team capable of winning week to week to week - vastly overrated. This City team is a comedy of errors at the back. I think I will go mental the next time I hear anyone talk up John Stones. He has more in common with Titus Bramble than Paulo Maldini.
But then again, the other teams shortcomings makes our own even more painful. As the title is there to be won, just like last season.

Agreed, it's up for grabs. I believe it will take a team, not so much with skills all over the pitch, but one with tenacity & real bottle and a manager who can inspire & drive them. In other words everything we are not & the manager we do not have. City are all over the place, especially at the back (Stones again today) Man. U... somethings not right there, I think Chelsea will be there or thereabouts, Spurs, like us, don't have the self belief.I think maybe Liverpool are going to be real contenders, the ones to watch. Cannot see Klopp allowing them to just fall away in Jan/Feb like Wenger so nonchalantly permits & accepts. We'll be in a desperate fight for CL qualification come the second half of the season, seemingly the only thing we are prepared to really scrap for......... WENGER OUT!!Wilson wrote:Rubbish performance. more words of wisdom from the £9Million pound man...
"Unfortunately when you play against teams like Middlesbrough, they watch the Champions League games on television and they are ready physically for the weekend. It's not easy."

Brace yourselves guys...update from Sir Chips Keswick at todays AGM referring to Wenger.......
We all recognise the fantastic contribution Arsene has made to the club in last 20 years.
“We are confident about his ability to take us forward.
“We will sit down and discuss the future at the appropriate time but our focus is on maintaining the current run and competing for trophies.”

Yeah we can all wish the fuckka to feck right off...but there's an improved wage to something in the region of £11.8 million a year PLUS bonuses (*) - being readied as we speak - (*) for saving the club money by only subbing certain players after 70 minutes... Oh! The Irony...The Irony of it all - they pay the cun.t £11.8 mill for saving the club money - savings that impact on how we do football wise.
