As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Fans like Wilson, are the ones that get duped every season by our bit of good run which ostensibly puts us in the title mix. Said fans once again begin to worship at the altar of TOF, totally forgetting why only a few weeks ago they were justifiably slating the senile old duffer, and even worse, willing to take to task those of us who still see things for exactly what they remain. It invariably comes crashing down for them, though, somewhere between February to March.
He'll rejoin the dark side of the force soon enough.
Wenger showing no understanding of Ramseys role as below...
"He is a player who is box-to-box so overall he pushes the team forward. That is what we want in our side. He can play in holding midfield, he can play if needed on the flanks as well.
He pushes the team forward ????
I thought he dwells on the ball far too long posing.....then waits for opposition defence to be lined up then passes it backwards....
I would be gutted if Wenger tried to play Ramsey on the flanks.
Why would he do this to himself and the fans?
Its like a drug addict you think might be showing signs of recovery, then they just relapse and make you wonder why you started to show even a small amount of faith in them, as recent performance indicated perhaps a change for the better.
Oh Arsene, you cant help yourself, let alone the team.
Cant believe he is flirting with Ramsey on the wing again. What a fuking moron.
The team once agian held hostage to the need to play Ramsey in the 11 - even though he doesn't fit. Wenger, like a tick - he just has to play him, just has to play him, just has to play him, irrespective of the fact the team is scoring almost three goals a game with Sanchez flanked by two natural wide players.
Yet here we have Arsene, ready to cancel the party to bring Ramsey, and maybe Giroud back into the team. Fuked if I know how either of them improve the team.
Shoehorning players into teams never works Ramsey and Giroud are players to come off the bench or only to start if injuries dictate, rotating players or for certainly some home fixtures a change of formation.Teams sitting deep defending in their own box Giroud for example is obviously a decent header of a ball and would give options.
Ramsey out wide just doesn't work he hasn't the pace and wants to take too many touches or risky flicks. He lacks discipline as well and just drifts back to the middle anyway.
A game like tomorrow night I have no problem starting Giroud as long as it means Alexis is kept on the bench fresh for Sunday,Xhaka should start as well think it is also time to give Iwobi a breather his form has dipped as is natural with young players.
The manager should be telling the players it's about taking their chances when picked if some get upset good might make them fight harder when they get selected.

your dead right Wilson...Ramsey on the wing would be a disastrous move

Exactly correct....He lacks discipline as well and just drifts back to the middle anyway.
The brutal reality is that Wenger has stumbled into this winning run through injuries. He loves Giroud & Ramsey, they are part of his fiercely loyal inner circle and he will spin any amount of BS to convince his mostly moronic followers that Ramsey is a world class utility player. And of course Ramsey believes it more than anyone, leading him into the delusional mindset that he is so much better than he actually is.
If he's fit, he plays, if he's just back from injury he is straight back to the bench and gets a run on in minute 70.... then starts the next game and every one thereafter until he gets injured again.
He'll start against spurs.... watch this space. Xhaka is looking at a loooong spell riding the pine.
Ramsey in the middle is even worse than on the wing. He is to gullible a defender. He is always assuming the ball will be won back and thus we switch from defence to attack - therefore he is getting forward and looking to get into attacking positions before the ball is even won back.
Its one thing I have noticed. For instance, if an opposition player is shaping to pass the ball backwards - Ramsey will try to intercept it rather than remain in position INFRONT of his opposite number. Ramsey, takes the bait and rushes the wrong side of the player holding ball, because Ramsey is to eager in wanting to attack. So all the player has to do, is open up and make like his passing it backwards - Ramsey will chase it, and all the player then needs do is turn, and no one is in front of him, as Ramsey has rushed the wrong side of his marker.
If your playing in the middle, you cannot allow your opposite midfielder to so easily get goal side of you. Ramsey is absolute dog sh.. when it comes to this. Getting goal side of Ramsey is like taking candy from a baby. Coquelin, Leneny and Xhaka would never allow this. Even Cazorla despite being a poor defender, will at least stand in front of his opposite number. But for Ramsey, the idea of shielding the back 4 is an after thought - he is too interested in getting forward. There isint one tactical or strategic bone in his body.
I would use Ramsey as a second striker, a false number 9. I dont even consider him a midfielder. So the idea he plays at the base of midfield, despite Coquelin, Elneny Xhaka and Cazorla is incomprehensible.
However, thankfully Cazorla is fit, and not even Wenger will partner Ramsey next to Cazorla. So he isnt playing in midfield. And will Wenger drop Walcott or Iwobi? I still hold hope Wenger will keep Ramsey on the bench.
