Wilson got to ask, whats your background? Are you American? Have you studied American politics at uni?

Just trying to work out how you have such an intimate knowledge of politics over there that you can rate each and every president?

NAFTA enabled companies to shift production overseas, and could in turn lower the price for the final good. Thus offering consumers cheaper goods.

So what if Iphones are assembled made in China or Mexico. Eliminating low cost manufacturing jobs from the workforce is not a big deal.

For anyone interested in politics - This is an excellent insight into Obama's first 100 days as President.

It also reveals how useless Bush was and the mess he left the country in.

I have had some issues with Obama, particularly some events that seemed to have been staged (Sandy Hook) in order to get sympathy for gun control. BUT, he has done a good job overall. Especially considering he has had congress/senate against him the whole time. Is it too late to make an amendment to allow a 3rd term?

I am going to vote tomorrow. I do not like Hillary. Not even a little bit. I know her and her team rigged the primary voting against Bernie Sanders. She is a crook. If she wasn't who she is, she'd likely be in jail. However, Donald Trump is dangerous. He is a petulant child who could have his finger on the button to start WW3. I will vote for Hillary for the safety of Americans and the safety of people around the world.

The Republicans must be fucking pissed. All they had to do was throw in a candidate who was mediocre at best, like Romney, and they would have won this election by default.

Tomorrow could be a very significant day in the history of the modern world.

I was talking to someone today who believes that should Trump win it would be America's version of Brexit! - Not my opinion, but this guy was serious.

"Eliminating low cost manufacturing jobs from the workforce is not a big deal"??? Christ. What a thing to write! I'd imagine it was a big deal to the 700,000 people it put out of work that had families to feed and mortgages to pay! I'd imagine the secondary industry companies like laundries and cleaning firms and materiel providers and cafes etc that it put out of business found it a big deal too.

Consumers getting cheaper goods is the "final good"??!! What an insular and short term view. NAFTA also gave employers supreme power. Power to say things like "Fuck you. I'm cutting your pay and I'm upping your weekly hours. You don't like that? Fuck you I'm moving the plant to Mexico. You are now unemployed."

But hey that don't matter because you got a slightly cheaper iPhone.

I think ultimately that is what will win it for Clinton unfortunately. Trump is just too much of a risk to give so much power to. Personally I firmly believe if Trump got in he'd be gone within a year - he is that stupid. But of course he could do a lot of harm in that year!

It's just astonishing that a country of America's size, with such a huge and diverse population, cannot provide two better candidates than a moron and a criminal. :|

The USA shouldnt aim to have its manufacturing sector assembling Iphones and Microwaves. They should be building cars, and high tech equipment.

There will always be a low skilled sector in the USA - its called fast food. The service industry is a sector that cannot be outsourced, so thats where low skilled workers should work.

Also, one of the great paradoxes of US politics, is opposition to a raise in the minimum wage, whilst at the same time, hating on exporting jobs. Why does Trump oppose raising the minimum wage for fast food workers? Yet wants to protect low skilled manufacturing from their jobs being outsourced?

Do you know why? Because low cost manufacturing is a sector filled mostly by white rural males, whilst in the fast food sector, there are many African american and Latino's in the sector. So Trump wants Randy from Tennessee, to keep his 60k a week plus benefits job assembling Laptops, but doesnt want Jamal & Enrique to earn more than $7.25 an hour assembling McHamburgers.

Trump's just a fool. And I cannot wait to watch his concession speech, which will be full of ranting, conspiracy theories, and the inevitable accusation that Hillary cheated. Also, Sean Hannity's reaction on Fox will be equally as good.

I hate to break it to you but she is the biggest war monger going! Whatever else you could say about Trump, he has made it very clear he wants to keep the peace with Russia and not antagonise them as Hillary would

Indeed.

America is meant to be the Land of the Free which I assume means that anyone could become leader. But if Hilary Clinton wins then in my relatively short lifetime we will have seen husband and wife presidents as well as father and son presidents.

Some research even claims that all presidents are related to European Royal families. If that is true then what are the odds of a nation that declared its independence in 1776, democratically electing descendants from European monarchs for their President each time? Even if they are very distant cousins it’s still a coincidence. There are also photos taken in the 1950s at secret society meetings where future presidents like Reagan and Nixon are seen together. That would suggest that all is not what it appears and that there is some sort of grooming system in place.

Anyway everyone has to decide for themselves what to believe of course. If it’s all rigged though, I would not be surprised. I think the public get duped into believing we are part of some democratic process that gets to pick its leaders. That is how it should be but I doubt it has ever been that way.

However, there is nothing much we can do about it other than not take politics too seriously - especially American politics. I have complete contempt for the whole thing.

Once upon a time I was naïve enough to believe in democracy and the integrity of the electing system, but alas those days are gone - I know that programs like 24 and Scandal are "fiction tv", but it really does bring it home as to how easy the system can/is manipulated. In all likelihood there is no alternative to the current system of voting, unless we get rid of the right of privacy when voting
Again it really is disgraceful that these two candidates are the best options that a country of 200m people can come up with - maybe before they start hollering about being the "greatest country in the world", the yanks should look at the options in front of them now, and acknowledge that if that is the best that they can come up with then maybe their country is totally fcuked

Trump is a strange bloke but i'm wondering how much of his campaign has been him playing up to the cameras, i get the feeling he isn't as stupid as he seems.

On the other hand worryingly i get the feeling Clinton is exactly what she seems.

I really feel sorry for the average American citizen as the options they've ended up with are probably the worst they've ever had and even more than our own system their politics is based around who has the most money to finance their campaign.

God help us whoever ends up the supposed leader of the 'free' world we're in for some 'interesting times' as the Chinese proverb says :rubchin:

Drinking coffee in the evening is bad news, the consequences are staying up half the night watching the election results. Ohh dear it can't happen can it? Markets are crashing and gold is surging, go out and build those bunkers the lunatic is winning.
