Chris Kiwomya
What do you remember about this young man's time at Highbury?

Re: Chris Kiwomya
He wasn't much good. Signed by GG after GG had lost the plot a bit (also signed Hartson and Glenn Helder) I think Kiwomya only made about 10 - 15 appearances and scored maybe 2 goals?
I seem to recall he went on loan for about 3 years before we finally released him. He was technically still at the club during the 97/98 Double season I think but made no appearances - might have still been on loan?
Forget him, mate.

Hmmm … I’m always wary when a poster with a low post count comes on and asks about a random player from the past ... just because it might really be the player himself posting anonymously.
Probably best then to play it safe and not say ‘’He was faakking shit, he was’’ ‘Fucking awful signing! What a waste of money’’
To be serious I remember him at Ipswich where him and Jason Dozzell (sp?) had formed a half decent partnership and ourselves and Spurs had been linked with both. Dozzell drew the short straw and ended up at the filth down the road and we got Kiwomya in what I think was George Grahams last signing.
If I remember rightly he scored a good goal on his debut in a 1-0 over Forest which was the first game we played after Graham was sacked.
Whether we really needed Dennis Bergkamp - who came in and pretty much forced Kiwomya out of the side - is a debate I’ve had with many an Arsenal fan over the years and the verdict is divided.

I liked the guy as a striker when he was with the tractor boys, but tbh I don't think that he ever got enough games with us to be classed as a success or failure. I always felt that he was a bit of an old style poacher and it those days he would have been described as pacy, but nowadays the same speed would be classed as pedestrian

Didn't he score the winner against Forest on the night GG was sacked and then got two against palace the following Saturday.. ? That was all he scored for Arsenal i think.
Re: Chris Kiwomya
Too much competition for him - not a patch on Christopher Wreh

Had the skinniest limbs I have ever seen on a professional footballer.
Was well liked at Ipswich, would have a kick about with kids down his road .

Re: Chris Kiwomya
Why would you start a thread about a player who barely made an appearance for us? He seemed like a decent bloke, worked hard when he got a game, but who never did anything for the club.
What next?
Martin Hayes - The Glory Years
or
David Hillier - Better than Vieira?

I think the OP is a freelance writer if I recall correctly. He has started similar threads looking for info on players.GranadaJoe wrote:Why would you start a thread about a player who barely made an appearance for us? Martin Hayes scored some crucial goals for us in the 97/98 double season - contributions like that should never be mocked

Yes it's that period before the January window so the writers are looking for something to fill the online content.DB10GOONER wrote:I think the OP is a freelance writer if I recall correctly. Mind you due to our lack of midfield cover early transfer rumour is that we are looking at Amaury Bischoff a 29 year old from Portugal currently playing in Germany.Heard he is different class.

That would be an achievement to be proclaimed from the mountain tops seeing as he left us in the early 90s??!!augie wrote:GranadaJoe wrote:Why would you start a thread about a player who barely made an appearance for us?
