Players who understand what it means

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Players who understand what it means

Post by Perryashburtongroves »

Watching the team over the last few years has made me question how many of the squad actually understand what it means to be an Arsenal man. So, I thought I'd start a thread on players past or present who do know what it means to play for us and what we're all about. I'm starting it off with Bob Wilson and Pat Rice.

Agreed, and i know it goes without saying but TA6 and another Arsenal man who i always feel is always slightly over shadowed by more legendary players LD2, probably because he was not home grown but 14 years in the shirt :barscarf:

I'd put Paddy Vieira in that category from our more recent history but always thought Radford was red and white through to the core.

Perry Groves, Liam Brady, George Armstrong, John Radford and maybe Tony Adams but he kept it quiet!

Frank Mclintock bit before my time but whenever you hear him talk his passion for Arsenal shines through.

Ever since his "Arsene deserves the right to decide when he leaves" bollox, I have fuck all respect left for him.

Yep posted similar the other night it's cringeworthy at times his commentary on games as well tries to sound more intelligent than he actually is.

Liam Brady and David O'Leary as well knew what it was about to play for Arsenal.
