Made hard work of that. Not a surprise
Decent start. Though it certainly said it all when we relied on a comical error for Sanchez to nick our goal. I also cannot help but like Elneny for still attempting to shoot, even if they were blocked and off target. I was sad for Debuchy getting injured so soon in the game after months of being mugged off by TOF.
That Bournemouth tosser robbed their penalty and that typically cancelled out our luck. It got a bit angry after that, with potential flashpoints all over the place. The referee had a shocker. It was so typical of us that we can be rocked back on our heels so easily.
They typically played us at our own game, but looked much more dangerous. It just goes to show, we'd be better off with Howe as our manager as opposed to The Old Fraud. Howe actually deigns to give instructions and encouragement to his players, unlike the static TOF who only complains to the fourth official. We started to come back in to the game towards the end of the half, but typically we could not finish the chances. Unlucky for Sanchez to hit the crossbar before half-time.
Sanchez and Ozil (fucking pay them!!!) combined once again to bring about the chance that led to Walcott's goal. Thank fuck for that. Although the joy was tempered by seeing TOF's love-children Giroud and Ramsey warming up a few minutes before, basically signalling that they would be the pre-planned 70th minute substitutions.
The game went a little dead, then went a bit end to end. Luckily Cech stopped Afobe from scoring against us. Depressingly the predictable substitutions were predictable, although they came on five minutes later than usual. We really should only name three substitutes, seeing as four of them go to the game knowing they will never play unless a freak injury occurs.
Nice to see a counter-attack to lead to the third goal, finally killing the game in the 90th minute. Thank fuck we had no chance of going top, as this game would have been a guaranteed defeat otherwise
