As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The media mind you are still frothing at the mouth over Sterling, who I dont rate as highly as Theo.
With all due respect, do you give a flying fcuk who the meeja froth over ? We watch wally week in and week out and see enough to see that a goal in a game is not enough to mask the ineptitude that he shows in the rest of the game. That he is better than the shittier sterling doesn't change the fact that he is FAR from being good enough for a team with title aspirations

Good point also the crowd are not appealing....like they do at Anfield....
They were where i was sitting. Loads were going apeshit over there pen decision, as i was. The ref was a total crunt!!
Not going to doubt you but I struggle to imagine the Bowl crowd going "apeshit" over anything, apart from to defend their glorious leader against anyone who question him.
probably lost the broadband connection to their iPad, or split their latte

The Ox was ferkin useless one or two decent touches but he will not track back!! and just trudges around. Lazy bastard! Theo had a better game than he did. Eleneny is not good enough, he did try and have a go and ran at players.
Not a chance - wally was shite/anonymous for most of his time on the pitch His cross into the clock end in the first half, was the type of effort that would embarrass a pub team footballer
Aaaaaaah Yes! But did you see his goal celebration - the old rock the baby in the arms one - You have to be a very gifted player to do that!! Funnily enough no one joined him!...which is what tends to happen
Walcott quoted as saying he is happiest man alive.......think that should be luckiest man alive

Couldn't disagree more. Getting your name on the score sheet is a skill-set. Walcott, like him or not, is second to only Sanchez in terms of who is most capable of scoring for Arsenal. At the end of the game, if Walcott's name is on the score sheet, thats a contribution.

How depressing is that?
I would probably have Giroud above Walcott in the "most capable of scoring for the Arsenal" though - not that it says much for our strikers though.

Who are you comparing Walcott to? Hazard has 7, and Sadio Mane has 6, along with Theo. So in terms of goals, Walcott is running with the highest scoring wide players. 6 league goals in 12 games - Walcott scoring rate this year is more than worthy.
Wilson mostly talks utter shite but he is right about Walcott, the bloke scores goals,i couldn't give a fuck what else he does or doesn't do,if he goes missing for the whole game except for scoring a goal whats to moan about, football is about scoring as a forward player not about what else you contribute, unless youd rather have somebody who is awesome at taking on players but never scores,if you want both I think you will find Pires retired years ago,i know that is no excuse but walcotts goal contribution is hard to beat as a wide man

I see your point but despite a few goals here and there it still feels like Walcotts presence at the club and in the team is detrimental overall. Someone better at taking on players (even if they're not scoring) would probably be more beneficial if his ability was creating chances for others.
Its been depressing and frustrating watching Walcott struggle to look like a footballer for 10 years and personally I would never choose to have a player like him in a team I support.

Can't believe i'm going to say this but unusually for Wally his goal to game ratio isn't actually too bad this season, and unfortunately as a comparison to previous seasons we're going to have to judge him in May
Sanchez is a workhorse on the pitch but in terms of goals this season has only scored 1 more but has had considerably more time on the pitch and although i know we want all our players to be excellent in every aspect of their game lets be honest it's Theo, at least he's scoring goals this season
Just look at Iwobi, great footballer and is everything Theo is not in terms of ability. But Iwobi never attacks the goal, he doesn't have that desire to want to be on the end of a pass to put the ball in the net. Iwobi is also very timed infront of goal - he freezes and his shots are very timid. Walcott gets through on goal, and he will either smash it, chip it, or place it - he doesnt freeze and shit his pants and hit a tame effort straight into Lloris gloves like Iwobi did a few weeks back. Nothing against Iwobi, he is a great player, and hopefully as he gets older becomes more a goal threat. But stats do not lie, and so far this season, the stats prove Walcott to be a 1 goal every two games wide player, which is more than worthy of inclusion in the first team.

Cannot think of a worst player in 50 years !!
For a player that could reach 100 goals for the club by the end of the season he can't be as shit as you claim? He's a good player, not great but good.
Merson who many would say is better, I would say is the Theo equivalent of his era.
Merse was far more talented, gifted with the ball and had good vision - Walcott is fast, without the ball.

heard it all now...no way you can compare Merson with Walcott...
Merson was a gifted quality footballer...

I always thought Merson was over rated but to compare him to Walcott?!!
