Awful tragic story. RIP to everyone
I moved this into the main part of the forum as its football related and is a tragic story that could happen to any club

Absolutely tragic for all involved aboard the aircraft and their loved ones, RIP
(As a side note and i know it will be far from their minds at the club for the moment but how the hell do you rebuild from something like this, not only the players who were lost but a lot of the support staff too)

Sad,sad,sad.
I know that it is a cliche, but hopefully the "Football Family" will gather around the Club and the Families.
My thoughts go out to the victims, family and friends.
Also,Chapeoense FC should be awarded the trophy posthumously in tribute.
We should also remember that there were others on the same flight who should not be forgotten

Awful thing to happen....Just as in the UK - Football in Brazil is akin to a Religion - Saw this on BBC website
"Teams in Brazil have said they will give players to Chapecoense so that they can continue as a club."
Kudos.

It's a horrible, horrible story and my heart goes out to everyone involved. I hope one day, they come back like Zambia did and win something.
Re: Chapecoense FC
This is absolutely disgusting from the victims. Why can't you just use a normal Brazilian flag? Always have to make it about them.

Was a comment on there that it is for Courtinho, Firminho and Lucas so nothing to do with paying respect to Chapecoense, probably artistic license from the BBC ( given their pro scouse agenda)gp543 wrote:This is absolutely disgusting from the victims. Apparently PSG have offered $40m to the team to rebuild. Probably not true but if so a great gesture.

Very sad day for football.. RIP
Re: Chapecoense FC
The Colombian team that they were supposed to play in the final, have asked for the trophy to be awarded to Chapecoense. Classy.
And so many players were in their early twenties, with some having played youth level for Brazil. Fuking plane crash as well, I could thing of nothing worse.

Re: Chapecoense FC
Terrible tragedy. Hopefully the world football family can help them survive as a club.
Re: Chapecoense FC
It is an awful tragedy and all we can do is offer condolences to the families of those involved.
In some ways this is a very similar story to that was devastated the American football team of Marshall College many years ago - I know that there is always a certain amount of artistic license when it comes to making movies of events like that, but the thing that stood out for me in that movie was the uncertainty on how to proceed afterwards - in that movie they didn't know whether to scrap their football program altogether, or whether they should put together a team straight away to honour those who died in the tragedy. PSG and the portugese ladyboy can offer financial assistance to the club, and other clubs in brazil can offer players to Chapecoense, but when is it respectful to resume playing ? Would you want to be one of the players loaned to Chapecoense ?
It's an awful, awful situation and it will linger for a long time

Did Liverpool FC have to put "minutes silence impeccably observed" on their official Twitter account? Is it not a given that football will mourn and pay their respects?
