Interesting point on the 'definitely not happening' Euro army, not sure how the EU is going to manage to fund it when the EU states currently in Nato, barring us and the Yanks, can't meet their defence spending obligations
Would also like to know exactly who we would ask permission from if we needed to use the damn thing in a hurry, and how many committees, councils and parliaments would have to approve before it was deployed.
Would our own Military be superseded?
Would Nato be dissolved and new organisation implemented?
Who's going to pay for it all?
Will our Nato allies outside the EU accept it?
What of national obligations outside of NATO and EU interests?
Who decides how it's going to be equipped and trained, where it's stationed, CoC, interaction with the directing intelligence services etc etc
The thought of a Euro army scares me more than most things, we struggle to get on during NATO exercises, christ our own Regiments spend as much time fighting with each other as anything else when they are bored, now try throwing together soldiers from 27 countries into the same command structure who have been fighting each other for generations and still have battle honours celebrating kicking the shit out of each other for well over 400 years and see what happens
