The irony of the modern fan base is lost on you isn't it sunshine? What were you doing Weds night - watching the La Liga highlights from the weekend, or stroking yourself off in your Champions League duvet?
I thought being a modern fan was what I saw the other night - selfie time, an armful of shite from the Armoury, trendy beards, arrive 15 minutes after kick off and leave early in case you miss the fast train to Guildford.
However, if as you infer, the modern fan is one who still gives a fuck about winning trophies and doesn't give a ***** about Matchday Six in deepest Switzerland, then I'm happy to be a moderniser !
