And I actually hold the view that it will be Wenger who will be the more pragmatic. He has shown in the past he can adjust to top tier teams and play a more balanced/defensive style and attack from the counter. Its Gaurdiola who is the stubborn one. Man City will need to curb their enthusiasm for attacking football more than we do, given 3 at the back is quite common for them, and the fact their best attacking weapon is out injured. It should be City looking to consolidate and play a more balanced game to adjust to the fact Ozil, Sanchez, and the pace of Walcott/Chamberlain/Iwobi are coming to town, whilst their back line has been rubbish for a while now. A flat(er) back 4 and two holding midfielders should be what Pep deploys. But you wait, he will have his ageing wing backs trying to overlap at every opportunity, they will be knocking it around the back even under pressure, and they will be getting a shit load of players forward with only 3 at the back.

I actually think we will win.
totally agree, nothing to fear from city, the high line defence should play in to our hands, my only concern is that we need theo and ozil to play well and not gp hiding like they tend to do away in the big games.

Assume it's the game away v citeeh last season that you are referring to ? A little bit of research will remind you that it was the players that demanded the pragmatic approach to the game rather than le cock

Also they put in a shift for one game...like Man utd at home last year or Chavs this year....then because they can players like Walcott and even Ozil can go back to taking it easy....because they have a guy who cannot manage in charge....

I can see the players - on their own, of course - deciding to 'do tactics' for the standard once or twice per season :barscarf:

After tomorrow, everything will be clear once more. 9 points behind the leaders, and 1 point above the Scum and 4 above ManUre as the race for 4th and another season of jerking off gathers momentum

My Letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

My team had a poor display against Everton, mainly due to dismal efforts by by Walcott & Ozil, and Wengers total inability to take them off early enough to make a difference.

Please, please, please, the best present you can give us is for Wenger not to come to the conclusion that the best solution is to leave Zaka out and start Ramsey.

I've been a good boy for the whole day.. .er.. I mean year, and I hope you can grant this Christmas wish

If Ramsey is fit,he plays, simple as that. The poster boy, the midfield general, the string puller, the linchpin, Wenger's long lost son, call him what you will....he plays.

Cech, Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez....fit the rest of the team around them and off you go........ Substitutions will be made between the 68th & 70th minute, irrespective of what is happening or who we are playing.

With those substitutions pre-determined and involving Oxlade-Chamberlain, Iwobi, Giroud and Coquelin regardless of the match situation and how any of them are actually playing

Otherwise known as "Groundhog Talk" (*) Which is when that never say die, keep on hoping part of a Gooner is lit once more like a breeze blowing over the fading embers of a late night fire - and foolishly we allow a tiny feint spark of hope to be re-kindled all because of a few good performances by the team; who though lead by an inept, delusional fool, are in reality as we all know doomed to failure because of that same delusional fools inability to connect with reality and fuckthefuckoff.

It is that overwhelming, depressing, spirit crushing knowing that nothing will change under wenger's management and that we are powerless to intervene and so find ourselves (literally) sitting on the sidelines whilst he takes us further and further down the road of hopelessness till we end up talking among ourselves passing the time and waiting for his departure and THEN still knowing that no matter who comes in to take his place will also have a huge challenge on their hands, even if they are a tactical genius with the ability to martial and inspire both players and fans alike to new heights of hope and expectation, because that person will need to undo all the darkness and depression that wenger has so firmly cemented onto the grey, bleak gravestone of the football club and team that was once the by word for Class and (football) family values.

Sorry peeps but that's how I see it, knowing this awfulness is destined to continue for some time, even my anger can only get me through 'sometimes'.

I see the best aspects of the game and club I have loved all my life being eroded and changed into some money making monster with each passing day and game and with regards my club and team "THE Arsenal" wenger and wiggy are very much responsible for much of that .

Really looking forward to this.
We'll win this 3-1.
They are there for the taking and I expect Sanchez will run their defence into the ground.

Really looking forward to not watching this.
We'll lose something like 3-1 even though they're probably there for the taking.
I expect them to run our "defence" into the ground
