Democracy is dead, that is if you accept that it ever existed.
When they had the referendum to enter the E.U.,those in power, and the vested interests took the result of the vote at face value, and allowed the U.K. to become a member, and they allowed the Government to wave accession through unopposed.
Now however, because they refuse to accept the result of the leave vote, they now claim that the Government is not allowed to enact the mandate alone, and that the consent of Parliament is now required to carry out the mandate of a referendum.
How come this "rule" was not applied to the entry referendum,or indeed to the Scottish NO vote in their referendum?
Why suddenly do the High, and Supreme Courts need to give their undemocratic/unelected permission.
I will tell you why.....because the vested interests and the elite didn't get the outcome that they expected/wanted.
Don't vote! if they deny us our democratic will, return to our traditional means of change in the manner of the Diggers,The Peasants Revolt, and all forms of Non-Violent action.

The straightforward practical solution was mentioned somewhere today (but lost in the media frenzy).

If the Government loses their appeal (which they will) then they just put forward a one-line Bill and hold their position during whatever mandatory debates accompany it. MPs won't vote against it because there will still be mutiny amongst the masses who - despite the protestations of the largely pro-Remain media - stand by their Brexit vote.

An unfavourable ruling doesn't need to give any od the hundreds of MPs who voted in favour of the referendum an opportunity to try and frustrate the process which (setting aside the legal merits of the case) is the real reason for this case.

The Germans never forgave us for being on the winning side. Twice.

The French hate us even more. For the very same reason.

When the European Common Market was first founded the then French president said to his opposite number in West Germany that, between them, they could bring Britain to her knees (or words to that effect). The same man single handedly prevented the UK from joining this European club on more than one occasion. Charles de Gaulle has to be one of the most obnoxious Frenchmen who ever lived. And probably the reason that some Brits are happy to refer to the French as cheese eating surrender monkeys.

Just asking. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Blame Apple for that, was typing out my response on an iPad. I didn't know I had to spell check everything I type even if it gets auto corrected!

But seriously, sort the Modding out on this forum. You both act like a bunch of schoolkids, then get all defensive when someone questions what you say. I am all for banter, but it isn't a switch you can turn on and off to suit yourself.
Are you trying to be funny? Talk about the pot and the kettle!!

If you have a complaint about the modding, make it to the owner Mike or GoonerEd because tbh I don't give much of a fuck if you like us or not. If you want a forum with non-member mods then I suggest you try out a few forums that use that format and see how long you, in particular, last, seeing as you cannot discuss anything with anyone without insulting them. Go on, give it a try.
Where did I say I wanted a forum with with non member mods? I think you totally got the wrong end of the stick. As for liking you or any other MOD is that a serious question lol!

How can you genuinely like or dislike someone who you have not met or really don't know. If you or anyone is using t'internet for basing your opinions on anyone else then I really worry.

As for me insulting people I am debating with, well go on ban me then. Ohh wait you haven't really got anything to back up your rant with.
I think only one of us is having a rant, and it ain't me. Why would I ban you? You insult other people on here and that devalues your entire argument, but you are not abusive so no rules are broken.

As for non-member mods - your statement implied you had a problem with the current modding. Well, there are only two options; mods that are posters and non-member mods. Mods that are posters tend to give other posters a bit of leeway with the rules, non-member mods tend to just ban people for the slightest infraction.

Honestly, and this is not meant as an insult, I get the feeling you are a very lonely person. :| You seem to just insult people that don't agree with you and start arguments where there is no need. Are you like this in the outside world?

You are obviously intelligent. Why it offends you to have people disagree with you is beyond me.

Anyway, chillax as the kids say. It's Friday! :barscarf:
Wow, I've just read this. Am I lonely then DB? It sounds like a very sweeping thing to say even if you say it's a hunch. Totally bizarre. I assume you are not a physchologist ;).

The EU debate has caused divisions up and down the country, sometimes even within families. So is it not surprising that on internet forums there will be heated arguments both for an against brexit.

I get the feeling DB10 is pulling your plonker olgit.

When was the last time you went to Germany then 1945 ;). It's a great country where they serve proper beers not the shit we get in Wetherspoons or other chains in this country. More importantly they have engaged multiculturalism over the last 50/60 years.

I went to Munich with Arsenal last year, not one Gooner referred to the war in their chanting (unlike England before the Euros). The Germans were, mainly due to our good humour and behaviour great hosts. Sometimes you have to move on.

I am not sure the Germans are very proud of their history, but they are proud of their country as it is today. Nothing wrong with that. It is the likes of IS, who wan't to dismantle the fabric of modern day Germany as we saw again yesterday.

With regards to the French their economy is in disarray, regardless of what they think of us having detente is better than constantly having jibes again due to history.

For me this year will go down as one of intolerance, terrorists continue to do their thing nothing new there. But it is the likes of Farage, Trump and even Katie Hopkins who bring out the worst in people.

Farage the man of the people, representing the working classes. Well wait a minute, his old man was a stockbroker and he went to a fee paying school. His only get out was that he didn't go to university. Given that, how did he end up as a commodities trader in the city. There is nothing working class about Farage, he has to be phoney of the year.

Fcking glad I ducked out of this crappy thread ,it will still be going until the next election and of course we will not have left the EU at that time and very most likely not even pushed the Article 50 red Button either !

I told you fools that we wouldnt be leaving the EU and we wont even start the so called consulting period untill next year , at this rate 70 percent of those that voted for brexit will be fucking dead by the time it comes around again and beleive me they are banking on it !

Nutty....it is quite obvious to me that some of the humour on these pages goes straight over your head. By a considerable altitude

Again, you are making silly judgements and launching into poorly considered rants.

For your information, I love the various nations of Europe. And the national traits which we all possess. Vive la difference. I have travelled extensively in Europe. Both on business and on holidays. Your 1945 jibe is a bit naff, to be honest.

I get the humour no doubt, but my so called "rants" are reflective of how a lot of brexiteers especially the older ones feel about Germany, so much that to the extent that when their sons and grandchildren travel to Germany for a football match they have to make a point about the war.

If that's not you then fair enough I will believe you thousands wouldn't :).

Humour really isn't your strong point :D

If you hear "who won the war" comments at football matches then you are hearing banter. It's part and parcel of football culture. It is NOT anti German sentiment or hatred.
Even if it is mentioned by the older people that you seem to be fixated with  You are well wide of the mark.

I don't dislike the Germans at all. Even though the bastards bombed my grandad's fish and chip shop :D

Edit....my grandad never actually had a chip shop. I was making a joke. I thought I'd better make this clear :)

I don't completely agree olgit. Part of it is banter (and this kind of banter even my German football supporting friends indulge in before I do) but a good deal of it is anti-German. This was evident in Germany in 2006 and hasn't gone away. It is passed on through dimwitted fuckers bringing up their children to be dimwitted fuckers.

Luckily most of it is banter (Arsenal in Munich) but you should also consider that one man's banter is to another offensive. The same to your English ears sometimes sounds different to German ears. Probably cos their heads are filled with bratwurst and sauerkraut :rubchin: :D
