It is a fantastic goal but SlyNews and SlySports are going OTT on it, asking "is it the greatest ever PL goal?". For me it ain't.

It's brilliant but nowhere near DB10 against the Toon. :barscarf: 8) 8)

And Mickymackyterry at Manure must be a bit peeved as his scorpion kick goal didn't get as much hype - but then his wasn't as good!

Thought Sanchez cross was shit and behind Giroud so he just chucked a leg at it if I'm honest :? :?

Bergkamp scored at least 10 goals better than this one IMO

It was a good team move and Giroud worked his little legs off to catch up with play, so fair play to him and the team. Sadly, he did fuck all for the rest of the game.

Abso-fucking-lutely 8) There will NEVER be a goal as good as DB10's goal against the geordies - it really, really maddens me that Bergkamp's goal has never received the acclaim that it deserved

Lovely goal but in all honesty it was a bloody fluke which has been ridiculously sensationalised by a shallow media, along with desperate Gooners who like to go ott for any bit of quality Arsenal can produce these days.

Seeing how he started the move with a clever back heel, he finished it with a back heel goal...
So if it was flukey then he is one lucky player...

Yeah reminds me of something you'd see on a You've Been Framed video where a toddler stumbles onto a skateboard and into the path of a ball which rebounds off their head and up into a basketball net. Or something like that ...

Harry Hill could do a good commentary on it.

In all seriousness I think it was a brilliant piece of improvisation from Giroud. He should be praised and it should be enjoyed ... but lets leave it at that and not go overboard about it.

Giroud admitted there was "maximum luck" but any goal like that will require luck ! The fact he had the presence of mind to react so quickly is what makes it a truly great goal!
It doesn't come near bergkamps goal or at least half a dozen scored by both db and th ! But still a great goal borne out of determination that unfortunately the same player too often doesn't show!
Goal of the season?? I hope so!
