Hahaha Collymore - what a fucking moron.   Because yeah it's that simple. Wenger leaves and we will just "bring in" Simeone. Of course we will. We won't let one of Wenger's drones like Grimandi or Remi Garde take over...

The best thing I can say about Collymore is it was a Dubliner that slapped the shit out of him the night he beat up Ulrika-ka-ka... :box: 8)

So last year even though our rivals wheels feel off our rivals, we didnt win it. Whilst this year, Chelsea, United and City all had new manager, whilst Klopp was only 6 months in. Yet all the same - we not going to win it.

So no matter how you write the script, no matter if you pitch to Arsene underarm. He cant get it right.

And you know what, if Chelsea win the league this year with a inferior sqaud to ours, then the glass half empty guys will say, 'its because they had no CL football'. Thus if we dont qualify for the CL this season, that will be their calling - 'lets get behind Wenger, because with no CL football we can concentrate on the league'. Just like they told us that this season Wenger's long tenure would be an advantage over new managerial arrivals.

So no matter what, his loyal following will slice and dice theories in order to justify his failure, and justify a reason to reward him with a new contract.
Well put Wilson, I particularly liked the underarm analogy ( but shouldn't it be bowl rather than pitch, we are English old chap )

Your analogy is incorrect. Surely those people would be "glass half full guys" as in they see the positive in everything?

I like Ozil as a player(even if he is a lazy bastard at times) but if he is happy to sign up for another few years of this shit, then he has an fucking awful mentality. Any player worth his salt, goes through a number of stages at Arsenal. Firstly there is hope, that the club will compete for the big trophies. Then there is hope, we will sign other quality players, to complement the likes of Ozil. Then there is the realisation that the club have no hope of competing for the major trophies, and a manager who(against all logic) digs his heels in and refuses to strengthen in areas of need. If, at the end of all that, your happy to stay here, then you must be a completely unambitious player. No wonder Ozil goes missing in big games.

So Corbyn names OGL as one who would be in favour of his barking proposal to introduce a maximum wage cap in the UK.

"The Labour leader, who is an Arsenal fan, said he thought his team’s manager, Arsène Wenger, “would probably like it very much indeed, he’d probably like there to be a maximum wage cap on the whole of the Premier League”.

I wonder if he would be in favour of a performance-related cap on managers' earnings? I somehow doubt it!

it's uncanny- wenger is literally the jeremy corbyn of football management. socialist with some good ideas but no pragmatism who is lauded as the people's champion despite some dubious dealings in the past, and to whom the big prizes have alluded.

For years the weve been told 'if Wenger leaves all our best players will follow him out the door'. But Nasri, Cesc, RVP, all left regardless. Its just a trick used to scare us into supporting Wenger.

Although, lets say its true. Lets say players allegiance is to Arsene, not Arsenal........why is this the case? Why isnt Wenger fostering a mentality that puts the club above all else. I find it shocking, and unhealthy that players would feel allegiance to Wenger, and not the club or the fans.

If Wenger leaving means Sanchez and Ozil leave, then fine. Because no matter what, every year Wenger stays, its just delaying the inevitable - that he will leave without a major trophy. Why not just bite down hard now? Why not make this the moment we rebuild. Why keep this half dead dog on life support for another two seasons?

I will forego the usual "really?" and "who are you?" and "seems like less" bollocks, and just say welcome back Chippy.

Not me, although I am one of you're commonwealth cousins. And we do play cricket - some say we are the best at it :)
