As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Complete and utter garbage.
We don't just need Wexit, we need a hard Wexit.
The ONLY thing that comes near to the utter depression of Wenger extending his tenure (which will happen I'm afraid) would be him picking his own replacement, particularly in his own mould... cue another 20 years of groundhog season...

I'll take this opportunity to also remind some of our posters that we allow different view points on this forum. Deal with it.
Finally, anyone see Peter Reid on Goals on Sunday? Reid's response to Where's My Daddy Kamara's question of "Is Wenger's time up?" was priceless; "All I'll say to Arsenal fans is, careful what you wish for. Be careful what you wish for".
Ben Sheppard then asked him to expand on that.
"Just... be careful what you wish for...Um... just... y'know, just be careful what you wish for..." responded the ever erudite Reid. Some channel is missing a real opportunity to get this guy in as a major pundit...
I remember quite a few years ago,Reid being a pundit on some match or other. The next morning the sports writer described it as "up popped Reid with nothing meaningful to say delivered in his industrial strength accent".

In a way and in the short term i disagree with this sentiment. If Wenger did choose his successor and someone in his own mold it could very well be a complete disaster, akin to Moyes being chosen by SAF. I honestly don't think there is anyone out there who could manage to do things the Wenger way and be as 'successful' as he has been in the last 10 seasons. I genuinely feel it would be short term pain for long term gain if Wenger chose his successor as i don't think the board would be too happy if AW recommended someone and he wasn't able to emulate Wenger
Alternatively knowing how sly the old fox is i suppose it would open the door for him to make a miraculous season/club saving return which his disciples would absolutely lap up

I was implying that Wenger would still be at the club having stepped up to the Board and still be the de facto manager behind the scenes... Sorry, should have made that clearer.
My opinion is we need a total de-Wengerisation of the club. Wenger gone, all his staff and backroom people gone, "medical" team gone, everyone gone, right down to the Academy coaches, the kit men, ball boys, tea ladies and match day MC.
Wenger..... He really is holding us back.
Been around for waaaay too long and now thinks he owns the place ffs.
He has far too much power and just kinda runs the place like his own personal thing. No-body seems to question his ways meaningfully. Maybe they're afraid.
But as we've seen numerous times, he doesnt like to be criticised. Fuckin hates it. Didnt he ban that Jaquie Oakley for daring to question him?
He really does think hes the smartest/wittiest person in the room. Mr. 30yrs. Seen it all and done it all. What a horrible person he is. I for one will give him a great send-off when he goes

Besides the Banners - The Banner Bearers and Anyone Wanting the Cun.t Gone Need to start singing
"There's Only One Jacqui Oatley! - One Jacqui Oatley!"
That'll wind the cun.t right up! - Especially when some dumbcunt journo asks him what it was all about!?
What Keown said regarding Wenger staying at least another year and sourcing a replacement, I actually think he isn't too far off reality.
The fact is the club itself may only just be realising that Wenger is no longer the right choice as manager (despite the evidence of the last how ever many years) and the fact that the man is so deeply entrenched into almost every aspect of the club means that just changing him as manager is only the start of rectifying all the issues. Yes a great start, but it wouldn't end there.
For such a huge club, there is no visible Director of Football, or Sporting director or whatever title you give it. The new man, even someone like Allegri, couldn't come in and take over everything that Wenger currently does. He should never have been allowed to gain so much power and control but that is another story.
Anyway, what I am trying to say very inarticulately is that the way the club will probably see it when they do realise it is time for Wenger to go, is that he should hold the fort until the time they have all ID'd not only his replacement but possibly people to put in place a completely new structure to go with it, which will be an awful lot of change. This could even be a reason for them to justify a new deal for Wenger although they would not go as far to admit it publicly.
That's just how I think the club thinks. Personally, if Allegri is the guy and he wants to come, then lets go and get him and do the rest in the background taking the rough with the smooth. Eventually, a system like Southampton's should be standard so that a change in manager isn't ever as disruptive as this will be. The Head Coach does the coaching, and nothing else.
So anyway, whilst what some of what Keown said isn't what we want to hear at all, maybe it could turn out being somewhat accurate.

That may well be the way Wanker wants it to go and the way his boyfriend Keown sees it but I do think that the club know he has to go. I think they've finally taken notice of some of the discontent from fans and the general feeling of depression around the place. If he stays, I think they'll be civil war and the club won't risk that.

I disagree lads. You are both assuming that "the club" (which for all intents and purposes is Wiggy Kroenke) actually now believe Wenger is not the right man for the job. But what is the job? What is he asked to deliver? I've long said one of the major factors is Kroenke. Look at the way he runs all his sporting "franchises". Once the money is coming in from TV rights, merchandising and achieving the minimum requirement on the field of play, then Kroenke is happy. It is a business to him. Wenger is delivering what he wants.
You have to ask yourself would the owners/Board at Manure/chavs/Madrid/Barca/Citeh/Mousers etc allow a manager to remain in place without winning a PL title for 13 years? Why have The Arsenal?
For me Wenger has to go, for my sanity that has to be the priority, but nearly as importantly and for the long term health of the club, the bewigged bastard Kroenke also has to go.
