Wenger today speaking...

Arsene Wenger claims he wasn't threatening Arsenal with his recent comments about managing somewhere else, as he plans on remaining with the club for another four years.

"It is not a threat, not at all," he said. "My preference is always to manage Arsenal and I have shown that. I am adult enough to analyse the situation."

"Ferguson has some other interests in life and he was older than I am today," he added. "He was four years older, he retired at 71 and I'm 67."

Posted previously he was obsessed with Ferguson and want to emulate his longevity record....the fact he mentions him would suggest it is in his mind...

HE IS STAYING...

He is in denial. The disconnect between how he sees himself, and how he really is, is beyond stark.

Some say he doesnt care about the fans. But I just think, he tells himself he is loved and the fans want him to stay.

It also annoys me when I read in the papers that Wenger 'always puts Arsenal first', which is rubbish. Truth is, he puts himself first, and with regards to whats best for Arsenal - the reality is a clean break is whats best for Arsenal. But given Wenger isnt ready to retire, he will try to stay on despite the dismay of the masses, and it will be because HE WANTS TO STAY, and not because its 'what was best for Arsenal'.

If Wenger is going to dig in and stay, then just admit it - you dont want to retire, and would feel out of your comfort zone at another club. So, you instead stay on against the wishes of the fans for your own selfish reasons. None of this, 'I want to help Arsenal', because the self-sacrificial charade is easily detected. So dont dog shit about staying out due to some sort of loyalty to Arsenal. Rather, just admit you would want to stay, because no other major club would have you, and no other club would give you the freedom you enjoy at Arsenal.

I dont know whats worse, his performance as manager, or how he portray himself a civil servant of Arsenal FC, even though he is the clubs highest paid employee. 'Service' is such a misused term. Gary Neville said Wenger has given 20 years 'service' to Arsenal. Yeah, and the last 10 of those years he has been paid within the top 5 manager salaries in the world. To be frank, 'service' is a volunteer giving his time at a local church or homeless shelter. Not enjoying 20 years in a position of prestige with a multi-million dollar salary attached.

So just fuking admit it Arsene, you are desperate to stay. A thousands times more desperate to stay than the fans are prepared to see you sign on again. No one wants to the desperate party in a relationship - the one who wants it more. And Wenger is desperate to be viewed as being wanted and coveted. However, its all a charade, and the truth is, Wenger wants to be at Arsenal, more than the fans want him to be. In fact, im being polite, the fans simply want him gone. Although it wont stop Wenger portraying himself as a coveted manager who accepted a contract offered to him, rather than awarding it to himself.

Oh! He will mate - He will - He'll want his Big Wave Goodbye with all the sycophantic, sphincter licking media luvvies around bidding a tearful farewell going on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how he re-invented Arsenal...how without them we wouldn't have been in europe for 17 years and ... :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah:

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

edit: So sadly and regrettably (IMO) it's going to be another torturous year and 4 months before the clueless cun.t fucksoff.
How many years have we been saying it will be his last now?
He shameless enough to keep on going the Arsenal and the board are stupid enough to keep on giving him contracts.

The only thing we can do is try to force him out.
Nick - your last line says exactly what needs to be done. So why aren't we doing it ????

FFS lads - there is a hardcore of long term Gooners on here that desperately want change and have wanted change for a very long time. If we got ourselves together surely we could make a hugely damaging protest outside the stadium.

Inside = no chance because we couldn't get together like the old terraces. But outside = yes and it would be picked up by the media.

The one thing that modern "brands" (how I despise that word) hate is negative publicity and a few hundred of us with banners and chanting "No New Contract" would have them spitting their Gin & Tonics out.

Wenger is being scrutinised like never before AND his contract is up this year. These two things haven't come together before so it's the perfect time.

If we don't we are guaranteeing at least 2 more years of this awful situation.

LETS GET IT STRAIGHT..Wenger is an EMPLOYEE of Arsenal Football Club.....he is not a fan, he has no care for the Club...sack him and you will never see him again

Did not see him on the Northbank 30 years ago....Just Bollox....he is a very well paid (under his socialist wages of £9 MILLION) Employee thats it

People who truly care travelled as fans to Munich in the week, guys who have nothing and skint.....just a love of Arsenal FC

He has no connection with the fans....unlike George Graham, a former well loved player.....

Only his paymasters can change the situation, and see no obvious willingness to do that...

wenger has nothing in his life only his love of accumulating money which he shows no signs of spending

Think he will be here at least another 4 years....with same scenarios repeating itself..... :D

Sunday Supplement...EVERYBODY saying he has to go....also mentioned that they have no leadership on the field, that the players suffer no repercussions after heavy defeats, there is no accountability......weak leadership and even a weak manager.

Even Cross is saying he has to go BUT Cross of course still licking his arse. Saying Wenger cannot succeed, it's impossible for him to succeed in this toxic atmosphere. The atmosphere is TOXIC because he DOESN'T succeed you :censored:

How stupid is this guy...saying his press conference was wonderful...the others all disagreeing.

Good point made by a journalist on The Sunday Supplement is that (and it is open to correction) every year that Arsenal finished in the top four they were also in the top four budgets . Cross made a point about the away support being the barometer and I remember Roy Keane saying that Moyes had the backing of the away support when things initially went wrong at Manure.
Cross admitted that the Wenger out movement is far more than a few cranks on Twitter or other forms of social medias. Cross is a worm, he knows which way he should be going but his heart is telling him otherwise.

Roberto Martinez and Thierry Henry to both leave Belgium and link up at Arsenal...............no to both.

When Wenger goes, I want an outsider to replace him. No Wenger loyalist, or watered down version of Wenger (which is what Martinez is).

How about this club take itself seriously and not settle on a joker like Martinez, and a Wenger loyalist who despite being this clubs best ever player, still shouldnt be managing until he has proven himself as an actual manager.

Try four, mate. :banghead:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... more-years

Four more years; it's our very own George Bush Jr, only not quite as retarded. Even more annoying though. :suicide:

Fucking link....fixed?
Thers's also a link from this article where some knob has managed to write a few hundred words about being careful what you wish for, just look at Man Utd etc.

Wanka portrays classic abusive husband symptoms. When faced with his wife threatening to leave, he belittles her saying she was nothing before she met him - Arsenal had done nothing in the European Cup before I arrived.

He then goes on to say she won't be better off leaving him, making her feel like the situation is hopeless - Arsenal won't win every game when I go.

The mans a fucking sociopath, a fucking cockroach.

Exactly JFG .

There are nearly 30,000 replies on this thread and mostly non of the Wengerist mindset, why can we not galvanise support for an orchestrated push. Put aside the almost inevitable resignation that he's here to stay and give it an actual shot of making a difference. It's no use moaning coming May when that contract between the devils is signed off. The clock is ticking but things are in our favour NOW, he's been on the ropes before but never as punch drunk like this. All it needs is one good combo and we'll finish him. Lot of lads on here have put in a shift making their feelings known but come on, time for every one to get together, leave the PC, make time and financial sacrifice and help change things. Can we actually get this Forum to put up or shut up ? If we really are pushing this agenda and care for the club as much as we articulate on here, i, you, all of us should say, 'yes' and commit to what will amount to a minimal amount of time that is just a drop in the ocean in a lifetime of support of AFC. IF, at the end of it all, (and I truly believe it won't not help send him on his way) it makes no difference, well then fu.ck it, at least we know we tried, did our best within reason and some of us will walk away, possibly for good. Bit like FrankSav I suppose. Put his love of the club on the line and seen it pretty much fu.cked back in his face. Can we make this happen lads ?

As JFG mentioned, inside the Bowl is a no go for protests as the club control that and have extended that to other stadiums i.e City way. I propose to go about the protest slightly differently but with benefits. Out side the club entrances great, needs to be seen and heard but I think we should organise Flash mobs on the Armoury. Blitz the fu.ck out of the place on match day. Before and after. 200 people will shut it down. 100 people outside the doors, no one gets in, 100 people inside. Definitely gets media attention AND the bit I like is that Kronke gets some of his cash cow taken from his greedy little fingers. That will make him sit up and listen to the fact that Wenger is not wanted, especially if is costing him money. Done right, what can we cost the slimeball per game? 50K, 100K ? Make it easy for the Yank to 'Thanks but no thanks' come May. Don't forget, Wenger is only one part of the Problem, Kronke needs eliminating from our club as well and he's only fu.cking off if the money is affected. This is one possible tool to weaken his grip on the club.

Another thing, the silence from the so called supporters clubs is deafening. Fu.ck off Red action but really disappointed in the BSM. Was thinking during the week, what we need is the emergence of a new direct action supporters club. One that does not flutter and feint every time AFC bats an eye lash at it. One that actually lives up to the term 'Supporters club', one that fights for supporters rights and one that fights the club if necessary. Surely there is a nucleus of fans from here and beyond that could make this happen. This would make things uncomfortable for the club now but would not let the situation we are in happen again where it was left to individuals to organise dissent against the Ills within the club and then for them to wade in and effectively kill the movement with total headless leadership. Even on here, Nick F, Armchair JFG, you guys and with the backing with so many of this forum could make a difference not just for now but for years to come. The removal of Wenger is only one battle, there will be many fights to come to win the war. This forum has a lot to offer and I doubt it could/would ever happen but if the birth of a proper supporters club could emerge from here, that would be an actual proper mouth piece that we could channel all our bitching, moaning on here and direct it at the powers that be with some effect not like the toothless wonders that masquerade as Supporters clubs.

Lads, any one ?

Inevitably when push comes to shove, people are no where to be seen.

Time for one last to shove and push Wenger out that door.

Contrary to popular believe you can get banners in the Emirates, it was done last year. Getting enough interested is always the problem whether it is Inside or outside

Can't believe we seem to have gone from 'Wenger on the verge of leaving' to 'Wenger signing a four-year extension' in a matter of days.

Have to say, as apathetic as I already am, if that did happen, that's literally it for me. I'd literally turn away from the club for good, as it simply isn't worth the hassle.
