Miserable, dejected, fed-up, uninterested, snapping at the questions about his future... he's at the end and he knows it. I still can't help but feel sorry for him to some degree (and how much he gets paid has fuck all to do with it), but at the end of the day he's done it to himself

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Anyone able to pinpoint the exact moment in time where he morphed from a dynamic, driven, charismatic young man into a decrepit, sniping, insipid old woman?
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
He's incredible...saying about Bayern game...look we were 1-1 at half time and everything went against us...we lost Koscielny...blah blah blah
then says we responded well against Sutton......
the guy is in denial....
He is a fraud....seriously believe i could manage the team better than him, thats how disastrous he is......

Losing the Champs League final is where I'd put it. That's the point at which I think it all went to shit. He had his chance on the big stage and him and the players blew it.rodders999 wrote:Anyone able to pinpoint the exact moment in time where he morphed from a dynamic, driven, charismatic young man into a decrepit, sniping, insipid old woman?
The shit he comes out with these days is beyond embarrassing... it's fucking surrealRedarmy wrote:He's incredible...saying about Bayern game...look we were 1-1 at half time and everything against us...we lost Koscielny...blah blah blah

I was going to post exactly the same as Postman Pat. 17 May 2006. The sour faced old git just could not accept the defeat to Barcelona.rodders999 wrote:Anyone able to pinpoint the exact moment in time where he morphed from a dynamic, driven, charismatic young man into a decrepit, sniping, insipid old woman?
Just like Hillary Clinton - he is so entitled that he felt it was his by right. We've been like a fly banging into the same window ever since.

Since when in about the last 10 years has he been objective?Redarmy wrote:He is definitely wanting to stay....hes not that stupid, he wants to stay, but the club can refuse him a contract, which is unlikely
defiant Wenger said: "My preference [staying at Arsenal] is always the same, it will remain the same.
"I am not looking for jobs of other clubs or jobs of other people.
"I am just focusing on getting to the next level and try to improve.
"Competent managers always try to get better, to reinvent themselves.
"My preference has always been Arsenal but I am objective enough to make the right decision for myself and the club itself.
"The club can also make their decision if it wants and I will respect that."

Yeah, I'd go along with the CL Final as the date.
Not purely because of the result, but some bewildering decisions that made you realise he's a fucking idiot. Leaving on Hleb and taking off Pires? Go fuck yourself.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I agree. That's always been the turning point for me. We had an OK team, not wonderful but decent and they were playing well. After that game, Wanker allowed his own feelings and grievances to get in the way and started this culture of excuses. When he should have been raising the players and driving them on, he let them wallow in self-pity and accept mediocrity. Since then, it's been all about excuses.falkirk goon wrote:The brum 2-2 game in 2008 everything has went to shite since that day,and he has just got more embarrassingrodders999 wrote:Anyone able to pinpoint the exact moment in time where he morphed from a dynamic, driven, charismatic young man into a decrepit, sniping, insipid old woman?he was well on the way to le bumholeville before this, treating bobby like shite after paris etc but i think that day and the way we bottled it afterwards makes it the tipping point day imo.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Felt his press conference after the Champions League Final was the first time I saw him being so ungracious.. Knew he was a bad loser back in the day but that is fine..But Paris was different and he went beyond being a bad loser...He called Eto's goal as offside. Eleven years later I'm still undecided on that..He was just liked a spoilt child.. I thought at the time even in defeat this was one of the biggest nights in the club's history and we should be better than this..rodders999 wrote:Anyone able to pinpoint the exact moment in time where he morphed from a dynamic, driven, charismatic young man into a decrepit, sniping, insipid old woman?
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
It was when he dismantled the invincibles and replaced them with a bunch of 'kids' and no bodies.
We went from Lehmann, Lauren, Campbell, Toure, Cole, Vieira, Gilberto, Lgunmberg, Pires, Begkamp Henry, to
Almunia, Eboue, Gallas, Toure, Clichy , Flamini, Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, RVP, Adebayor in 3 years.
When he thought he had the right to lower standards so drastically without anyone questioning him, thats when he morphed into someone assuming the managers seat at Arsenal was something akin to a birthright.
People talk about the stadium, but thats rubbish. Do you think Eboue antics, Hleb's passiveness, Adebayor's bullshit, and Gallas leadership would have stood for 3 years prior?

This is very interesting....
“But also because I believe this job has allowed me to get to the next level as a human being, to develop my strengths in what makes a person great.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Arsenal have started planning for life without contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile star is at the centre of a long-running contract wrangle that is showing no sign of being resolved.
And the Gunners look like they have accepted Sanchez will leave this summer by starting to look for his replacement.
Greedy little sod..not only does he want to earn top dollar he wants to win trophies as well. It really is outrageous.
Time for Wenger to do what he does best, get as much as he can for him. I swear if Chelsea offered £5 more than anybody else Wenger would let him go there, and if Spurs came in with £5 above that he would sell him to them

The guy talks about sacrifice in his latest Pravda piece. I bet all of us would be ready to "sacrifice" ourselves to be paid 9m a year. What a prick!
