Wenger Out protest thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You just couldn't make this sht up :D
:D :D

Look at this half-baked drivel:
The reason I support Arsenal is Arsene Wenger - a man who understands that football is about entertainment and occasionally it is about art and beauty. It is not all about winning. I go to football to be entertained, maybe even moved. If I was only interested in the result I would stay at home and check the results online. I know many older fans like me who feel the same. I would like Wenger to stay forever but I feel, sadly, that he'll get fed up with all of this noise and take his genius and love of football elsewhere and English football will be so much the poorer. This is for a five foot letter banner of up to 32 characters including spaces. Please see examples https://www.flickr.com/photos/drmoores/ ... 4080351075

I guess now its a matter of what do we raise the funds for a banner behind a plane or a billboard or both, either way im happy to part finance one or both.. open to ideas .

Thanks

matt
The logistics behind the Billboard, the time it takes & the positioning is going to be a stumbling block...the mobile one is probably much easier to arrange. If we had the money today for a static billboard and could pull the trigger we would be looking at, best case scenario, first week in April...that is too long. The plane for the away games really looks well worth it...an hour is a long time and its half the price of the billboard. Lets get the fundraising set up then decide what to do with the money.
if we are willing to go with a plane we need to confirm the request, so the plane and airfield can be booked up. subject to weather on the day and airfield approval to take off and land once we pay we are good to go...

if I can get firm commitments by pm please for funding. we can try and get this off the ground...

If you tweet Piers my guess is that he'd be delighted to stump up all the money

I don't mind the plane thing but it's suspectible to a weather event especially oop norf. Be shame if we put all effort into it and then it suddenly can't fly. We are also running out of games and haven't got many to try again. My vote goes to the mobile van or billboard but happy to chip in if plane gains most traction.

I'm game ball to donate to anything - carrier pigeon, hot air balloon, billboard, everything and anything that says WENGER OUT on it.

I'll keep an eye out for the new thread over the weekend.

We could strap him to the back of the plane and he could hold the banner.

Exactly right mate ... and with Wenger's impeccable timing we just know it would be the worst weather and thickest fog for years if we planned a plane.

Mobile billboard for me too and of course I am willing to contribute to the cost.

Can't we sponsor the players, just for this game.

They'd all be running...or walking around...with "Wenger Out" on their shirts.

A permanent poster site would be good, but probably isn't necessary. During the elections all political parties had big launch events for their new poster 'campaign'. Dignitaries turned up with lots of supporters and the invited press turned up in numbers and they were all over the TV.

The reality was that on some occasions no other such poster was put up anywhere in the country. It was a ruse to get a lot of airtime. As such the cheaper, and easier to organise, ad van would serve the purpose. Get all the media there, drive it around London for a day, job done.

I like the mobile billboard as well...I thought the static one would have been better but it takes too long. Lets see how much money we raise, if we have enough to do a couple of mobiles and the plane lets do that as well. If the plane doesn't fly we get our money back. I'm scared to pay for a static billboard in case the prick signs a new contract before it goes up :banghead: These things all require upfront payment so lets get the money first.

I wonder if a mobile poster can be arranged in time for Birmingham, well Smethwick direction for a Saturday :?

I was hoping some Gooner has a share in a mobile ad van or even a standard van (Cos a banner thats large can be fixed to one quickly  )

Hi All
Just a thought here but wouldn't it be another idea to get some sort of billboard/banner/protest outside London Colney Training ground . I drive by there every day , most of the time its occupied with a load of Japanese/Chinese tourists baying to get the lord masters autograph and shake his hand but been as though Arsene is there 90% of the time surely its an opportunity no matter where he goes that he sees the discontent that is amongst us all.
There is a layby that is directly opposite the entrance to the training ground that is visual when he would drive his car out and is a public right of way so no chance of the gestapo stewards or plod moving people on if a peaceful protest were to take place. Like I said I live very nearby so would be happy to take part in any action to remove this leach
