He's 24 and a Central Midfielder, quite a talent apparently. Seen him play a few times when watching Italian footy on Channel 5 and he looks okay but I would rather see Kranjcaer or Ben Arfa.Charlie! Anyone have any info on this player?

Lassana Diarra has a gentleman's agreement with Portsmouth that he can quit Fratton Park if one of European football's big clubs come knocking. (Daily Mail, 1112 BST) Not off to spuds then?

Unlike some on here I hope we don't sign Kranjcaer. I have seen the guy play on numerous occasions and he just doesn't impress me. He very rarely dominates matches and I have yet to see him do something that made me sit up. You hardly ever see him getting M.O.M awards for Portsmouth and I wonder if he struggles to shine in their team, whether he could shine in ours.
Now I concede that some players personal game improves when they play with better quality team-mates, but if I'm honest I'd prefer someone of higher quality than the Croatian. Sorry, but the boy Kranjcaer is not for me.

Or me, I would rather see a no nonsense midfielder than a flair player. Ya Ya over Nico any day of the week.I Hate Hleb wrote:Unlike some on here I hope we don't sign Kranjcaer. I too would have reservations about kranjcaer and I said as much on the cup final thread saturday evening. To me he seems to be lacking pace and that is a key factor in our game so without it he would be lost. I agree that we need an enforcer but I also believe we need a proper attacking threat in our wings and as I havent seen enough of nasri or ben arfa(please dont quote me youtube links

Myles Palmer on anr seems to be a big fan of Nasri.

He must have seen more of him than myself or French Gun who are not so enthusiastic.
I seem to remember Aquilani play, physically quite tough all round midfielder.

It's interesting, my brother says the same. I quite like him, but IHH is quite right that he doesn't seem to dominate at all. He also is not the quickest.
When I read the stuff from Ken Friar's meeting last week, I thought the transfer he referred to could well be Kranjcar, as it would never be announced properly before the Cup Final. Time will tell.
