THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Smithy wants him gone. Seems as depressed as we all are about the greedy fucking old bastard.

This implosion has caught them by surprise.
Mate, seriously? You believe that? We have basically done this same sad shit under Wenger for the last 13 years. :|

We either start shit and blow any chance of the PL by Xmas but then put a run together to grab a spot in the top 4

Or;

We start good, look like real challengers for a few weeks, and then simply implode after Xmas.

As for the CL??? Every season, same shit; we get knocked out by the first decent team we meet.

There's a reason we call it "Groundhog Season".
I don't get your point. I said this season looked quite similar to other mediocre seasons at xmas. My point is it's gone downhill since then and there isn't a plan because nobody at the club foresaw that although they should have.
But it happens every season, mate. It goes downhill every season. I would say this season is no different. We have imploded. Again. Wash rinse repeat... :|

He's going to stay for sure. Just a question of one year or two and how they spin it, From a sporting perspective we are probably now the worst run, least ambitious club in world football.

Anyone turning up next season if it's a 2 year deal is supporting Arsene more than Arsenal. Forget the dull football and underachievement on the pitch, the way he has treated the fans and represents the club in press conferences is worth boycott alone.

This is literally no way they can spin it as good. He has lost the players and the fans.
They do not seem interested in playing for him anymore - how can it continue?

Even Wenger is clearly weary of it all but his humongous ego and guarantee of another £10 million in the bank keeps him keeping on and on and on

Then we have to pray it was either Wenger winding up Pulis or vice versa, because Pulis sure seems to think he'll be around for another beating next year.

How much was the plane by the way? Worst case scenario maybe we could fundraise over the whole summer and try and get it for half a dozen games next season - especially in the event of a 2 year contract.

The most damning thing out of this is that not one person can give a good reason as to why he should stay on in a football sense.

This is the most bizarre situation I've ever witnessed in sporting history.

Stan Kroenke is a truly a fucking c***.

But he hasn't, mate. :|

The fans? How many are protesting? A minority. A brave and brilliant minority, but still a minority. We are outnumbered by the AKB and the waverers. How many of the waverers will come over to our side? Not many I reckon, especially if we get to the FA Cup final. And when the new contract is announced they'll just go back to getting on with being fans

As for the players? I honestly believe he has not lost them either, with the exception of maybe Ozil and probably Sanchez, but the rest? No way. They know in their heart and soul they would never get paid so highly for so little effort at any other club. Wenger is the goose that laid the golden egg. :|

The big differences this year are that the collapse has been far worse AND we paid big money, many people (Seriously   ) thought we were in with a chance of winning the league, especially after the Chavski (H) match :| .

No one unless on coke or wearing headphones can think otherwise now. The best anyone can say is hes gone stale. :cussing: :cussing:

Has it really been "far worse"? Because a few people jumped the gun based on one result? Look back at the last 13 seasons. There have been numerous disastrous collapses, numerous spectacular implosions, and during seasons when we looked like title contenders too. We've had numerous 5-0, 6-0 spankings and an 8-2 and been demolished in the CL every season for the last what 5 or 6 years?

Honestly, there is no huge difference. Certainly not enough to push our money-obsessed board to offload him ffs.

Oh no mate sorry Im pointing out how mildly AKB fans see it- genuinely even as far as the league cup V Saints people though TOF was doing right to rest players for the league campain we had a chance in   . The we are going to spend big and the losses now scrap any last shred of AKB spin left.

All they can come out with is he is stale, protesting isnt the Arsenal way  :cussing: :duh:

It is worse because we are not going on some run to get top 4 this time, I think we'll continue our relegation form until the end of the season and end up about 7th.

The board and Wanger have always preached about how vital top 4 is and so if that target is not achieved heads should roll, c**ts can't have it both ways, good luck selling your £1,400+ tickets to watch Europa league and midtable scrapping.
