THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What’s the latest on Arsene?

Nothing

Do you expect him to stay at Arsenal for the next two years?

I don’t do press interviews - you know that. I never have done, I’m not about to start now.

What have you made of what’s happened at the club this season - of the uncertainty?

Football is a very uncertain game isn’t it, you don’t win them all.

Do you think he will stay at the club for the next two years?

I never make press statements. You know that, I’m not about to start now.

How do you think the season has gone?

It started well, but it’s become rather disappointing - you watch football.

Do you still think he is the right man for the job?

I’m not answering that.

What a classy club we are eh? A club that does things differently. Is this the Arsenal way? To treat the fans with utter contempt?

Just tell us he has signed the thing already. Who made the banner from a few years ago "Where has my Arsenal gone?" That needs to go up as well. I can't recognise the club I have been brought up on.

Complete and utter prize prick. Got nEarly as much contempt for the fans as Wenger.
Yep - Keswick, Kroenke & Wenger might as well all be the same person - all arrogant rich old c**ts who have utter contempt for the everyday supporter.

Wenger this morning...

Really? I mean really? Who is buying this?

If ANYONE is in their home country doing an interview then it will be in their mother-tongue, so they'll know exactly what they're "wanting" to say!

He is a sneaky, snivelling conniving little weasel-faced cünt!

I really don't think Wenger was suggesting there's an interpretation problem between Sanchez and the Chilean media :?

Wenger surely meant that the English media can take translated comments out of context!

And to be fair, you've kind of proved Wenger's point, as Wenger was speaking English with the English media and you STILL misinterpreted him! :D so yeah, throw in translation from Chilean and it adds to the confusion

The usual run of good results to bail him out isn't coming. Our remaining home games are City, United, Everton, Leicester and West Ham - we will beat West Ham who are garbage but other than that we won't win any others unless we play significantly better than we have for months.

We never win at Stoke or Spurs and even though Palace and Boro are both poor sides again we would have to play better and would anybody back us to win away from home?

We have played well once at Wembley in five FA cup games there.

Yes, of course, but if I was talking to my home media it would not be very difficult for me to explain that I love living in London but that I would like to win the League ( at another Club ).

And spanish to english is not that tricky!

I know what you're getting at though...

And in my defence english is not my first language.

Any chance of turning this into a banner? Even if you cut out the top half it would get the point across

I found the exact spanish quote...
Alexis wrote:Me gusta mantenerme en una ciudad y en un equipo, pero en un equipo que sea ganador, que tenga mentalidad ganadora
The "pero" is the important bit. I asked a native spanish speaker.
Of course she couldn't tell me exactly because she had to translate it into german, but anyway...

But yeah, it could mean that Alexis likes London, but would really like that The Arsenal would become winners and get a winning mentality, or...
that Alexis likes London BUT he would like to change to a winning team.

The more I read it the more it's definitely the first one.
Although you could read it the other way.

Sorry Mr. Wenger. You were right. And I was wrong , for exactly the reason I was angry about.*

*I hate him even more now!
