Pat rice rumour!!!!
fellow gooners , I hear a rumour that the great Pat Rice is to retire , has anyone else heared this , maybe tony adams coming back to arsenal ?

I have said in a seperate thread that maybe a fresh injection of ideas form the coaching staff may well be as good as a new signing. Things can go stale and maybe a reason why Ferguscum has had various coaches alongside him.
However, I do not want Pat Rice to leave and most of all I hope the illness rumour is not true.

I think it's about time we got a new number two in. Someone who knows how to organise the defence.
I'm not quite sure what Pat Rice has done in recent years other than being everyone's friend and a yes man to Wenger. He's more like the teams shrink than an assistant manager. If it were me I'd give him a different job title, as he's been too loyal to fire, but I'd definetly bring in someone else to be Assistant Manager. Tony Adams seems the perfect candidate.
I'd much rather have Tony as Asst. Man. than having him as manager. I fear he'll take us back to a style of football too similar to George Graham's.
