THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The unending stream of shit that pours out of this charlatans mouth. Unaware of the protests outside the ground but well aware of the support in the ground. He really is a despicable man.

Now dimwit Clichy pipes up in support of our great leader.

Makes me laugh when players who have basically abandoned project Arsene then insist he is the best man for the job, hypocrites or just idiots?.

He's right about one part though:

“It is hard because the manager does not really deserve what he is getting,” said Clichy

Quite right Gael, I asume you mean in regards to getting a new contract?.

Do not be goaded by this sick psychopath, he is now on hyperdrive trying to get a reaction...
Always knew he was a divisive little count and remember
HE is the club...
Once he has been eradicated, Kroenke next!...

How ironic these ex-players coming out and defending the mercenary.

Funny, they're all the same. Arrogant, egotistical, multi millionaires who don't give a flying rat's toss-bag about the average supporter knowing full well they're going home in their fancy cars and mansions.

Wankers.

Driving back last night I was listening to Ian Wright on 5 live doing a phone in. He seemed quite calm and didn't seem that Pro Wenger.....He did however say in response to Wenger signing for one more year that Wenger wouldn't want one, he would want 2 because he still feels he's the man to turn it around??

I so badly wanted to phone him and ask him to explain "turn around"?? Turn what around..how?? Do they mean a SOLID 3rd or 4th place place where CL football is guaranteed for next season. 5th place 6 or 7 points behind..is that what turning it around means?? Or does turning it around mean winning the PL because that won't be a turning around, that will be a miracle. Have to listen to this crap, day in day out....

If there had been a Wenger In march before the game, he would have been well aware of that. Ghastly man.

Don't know if anyone saw the Sky Sports interview with Chunky Chips last week. He was collared outside his office in the City and asked his opinion on what is happening with Wenger etc.
He said he didn't give interviews and seemed a little on the backfoot about being caught.
However, when pushed on the matter, he didn't exactly give Wenger a ringing endorsement and even went as far as to say, that although he thought "the season started well, the performances of late were pretty poor".
Take of it what you will but i immediately thought he was in favour of change. ( see the eds new article on this website)

Absolute farce....

he is waiting for his first win before saying anything....
Think the board pull the trigger and announce he's signed after the West Ham game. After that it will be 21 days until the next home game and they will feel they can ride out the storm until then. Anything other than a defeat Wednesday and they'll announce :banghead:

Geoff Shreeves? FFS the fat fuck is a buffoon, a laughing stock among PL managers, players and other "journalists". He has less idea what's going on at The Arsenal than fucking Kroenke does!

Notice how all weekend the pundits are "quoting" this wishy-washy horseshit that Gazidis apparently said, but it all seems to be about "we kinda need to change a few things" around the manager, but not actually change the manager?

"Blah blah blah we kinda need to look at changing the assistant manager, the policy on buying players, transfer negotiations, the medical team, the tea lady... blah blah blah".

The fucking contract is signed, has been for months. They are just waiting for a good result (or a gap in the home fixtures) to announce it. Rodders is bang on the money - it'll most likely be announced after the wham game, especially if we win. :|

Kevins article on main page is very interesting read. If there are any truth in those stories that will only mean good things to get wenker out. I mean, business wise the club is one of the best ran club in the whole world. Club produces profits no matter if we competed or not and for that we have to give big credits to top management of the club. So if there really is division between the members of the board or among top management that has to make Stan to really think about this again.

With all due respect to Kevin, that article has not one ounce of proven fact regarding a split in the Board - which Kevin readily admits in it. It is just more rumours. I'd bet my left one that neither Chippy Chip$ or Gazidi$ will resign when Wenger's new contract is announced. As Kevin says that would be the moment we know the truth of it.

From ESPN article today.....

It is ludicrous and fans deserve a lot better than this. The manager teasing that he knows what he wants to do, but refusing to say it publicly, and a board who don't have the courage of their convictions to do anything at all.

If they want Wenger to stay, just say so. Get it done, make an announcement, and be brave enough to back your decision. It may not be what many people want, but at least it's over and done with then. You draw a line under it and move on, allowing you to concentrate on the football.

Instead, they have allowed this absolute charade to continue unabated, and when Gazidis had the chance to provide clarity, he fudged the issue again

This is the dilemma!

No one on the Board has a scoobie about football, actually the coaches are a close second to that as well!....

Everything about Arsenal that was respected is being eroded...
"Doing things the right way"
"Remember who you represent"

Afraid Kronke and Gazidis are far removed from such morals

If the old fraudulent *word censored* stays, the press will truly turn, he'll be hounded and lambasted at every turn by them and the fans and he'll end up being sacked. The press luvvies who want him to stay think he deserves some sort of dignified exit and that has come from the idea that he's off this summer. If he stays, he will get slaughtered at every turn. It will be open season on him and rightly fucking so.
