THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why do we have to put up with this fucking *word censored*? Shut up you annoying little prick.

I know Mcdowell has started many of the transfer threads but that's a bit over the top

That's debatable

Of course. It was always going to happen that way. It's now basically win the cup and finish 4th or fuck off as a failure. It's finally hit the board that they can't carry on like this. They're getting stick and keeping this prick on makes them look fucking stupid. Last night was the fucking bonfire of the Arsenal vanities and no about fucking time.

All this talk of a massive clear out - isnt that just a de-facto admission many of the players Wenger has brought to this club are shit? What makes anyone think the players he brings in, will be any better than the players he brought in years ago? I read we going to buy a 'deep lying midfielder', what was Xhaka then at 35m????

Moreover, why does Perez need to be 'cleared out'? As far as im concerned, Perez should be kept, whilst Walcott should be sold. Whats the point of a clear out, when the ones going are players who nave never been given a proper chance despite showing promise and heart, whilst the ones who routinely take the field and play dismally, are going to be kept on. I was livid When Joel Campbell was loaned out, and Walcott kept - I couldn't fuking believe it.

So even for all this talk about change, the Walcott's, Ramsey's, Giroud's, Gibbs, Coquelin's, are going to stay. And it will be the better players to depart, such as Ozil, Sanchez, Chamberlain, whilst good players who never get a fair chance will be also be sold, like Campbell, Perez, and even Wilshere. One thing about Jack, is you couldn never fault him for effort and his desire to play for Arsenal. Why he is on loan at Bournemouth? Why is there a chance he could be sold?

I actually think if Wenger gets his 'clear out', that we will be much worse. He will throw out the assets, and keep the liabilities, as the liabilities are all 'yes boss' type players who dont rock the boat - which is the biggest quality Wenger looks for in a player.

Theres a lot of crap talked about mr kroenke and him not putting any money in . He has £560 Million quids worth of share purchase . Thats a lot in my book and apart from taking £3mill a year for the last 2-3million in consultations fees he hasnt taken anything out. If he wanted to he could drain every cent out of the clubs coffers in dividends but hasnt cos he would have give ushmanov his cut. Kroenke is reluctant to rock the cash cow boat as its been good for him so he is naturally pro wenger . I think the current fight is between Gazidis and Wenger with Wenger now saying he wants to go on as before and Gazidus trying to clip his wings and impose changes . No dictator wants to give up power not even a little and we know how resistant wenger is to change so here we are. I hate Fat Sam but his post game comments on us laid it all out. In contast Wengers pathetic mewlings about have lots of posession told you all you needed to know about yesterdays man. I hate us losing any match but if there is an upside it hopefully brings us closer to the end of this era.

Yep, agreed Herd! The one thing I have been thinking is that where is the point when all this negative publicity, our shortcomings on the pitch and wenkers embarrassing mumblings to the press will effect the clubs money flow? I mean, at some point the owner and the board has to realize that wenker is damaging the image of the club and that will eventually also have negative effect on money flow. The money cow as wenker seems to be for the club will turn into liability at some point and I think that is very close now. The club has to understand that the protest and fan dissent will grow much bigger if they signed new contract with him.

And to give wenker 200m to spent!!!! Jesus Christ that is fucking scary to even think about it. He has Alexis and Özil and he hasn't been able to make it work with them so what the fuck will couple of expensive players add to this team? Absolutely nothing.

Walcott, Ramsey, Giroud,Coq, etc,etc.... those are his guys, his little adopted sons...and even if he wanted to get rid of these loyalists, I think he knows that whoever takes them,we will be footing half their wage bill as nobody is going to pay those players anything near to what Wenger does. He overpays these guys right from the start, any natural talent drains out of them after a few seasons under his "guiding hand", they get adopted in to this easy unchallenging world of mediocrity, they never come up on any clubs radar and whatever value they once had is even further diminished. And then to compound this ludicrous state of affairs he re signs them at an even higher wage :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

200m to spend, what a surprise!! So that is actually 100m to spend and another 100m to be made on sales. Wonga will only actually spend 100m because he refuses point blank to change the team beyond 2 or maybe 3 first team players. So guess what, the 200m war chest doesn't get spent (again!) and Wonga ends the summer having spent no 'real' money, saved Kranky his missing 40m CL money and tells everyone how different it will be next season....yawn. Jesus it's so predictable, just like the way Arsenal play and lose!!
