THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yeah I'm sure Darlington charge £1,500 for a season ticket, have a revenue over £400M, and have the third biggest domestic trophy haul, not exactly comparing Apple's with Apple's is it?, another totally pointless piece of interest dross.

he could be a good defender but it'll never happen with Wenger in charge.
Poor Sol Campbell too -it's was contagious.

I honestly think Rob Holding will be decent, obviously given the chance and probably away from Arsenal, but I've seen him a few times and think he's got a future,

I must confess to not being up to date with Darlington's plight so I am not sure if they have

Bulldozed and built flats on the historic, beautiful memory filled stadium and replaced it with a corporate monstrosity

Increased their admission charges to unprecedented levels across Europe, increased their membership fees (necessary to purchase tickets) increased their booking charges, and increased the percentage they take for the ticket exchange.

Replaced the clubs historic shield, with a micky mouse cartoon style crest

Had numerous changes to their away strip, deviating from the clubs traditional colours to a plethora of different ones, including hoops.

Dismantled the only team in modern history to go undefeated across a league season to a bunch of overpaid prima donnas who are afraid to put a tackle in.

Were promised that they would compete with the European elite on the pitch by an impotent board and an incompetent manager, who cant even do up his bloody zip.

All of the above achieved while having record breaking amounts of cash reserves, whilst proclaiming that they cannot compete with other teams who have the nous to sign ready made players.

No we haven't gone bust, got relegated, etc etc but we are fed up being fed bullshit and we wont take this shit no more.

Why is he a *word censored* for going to City?

The club could have re-signed him if they wanted to, I'm sure he would have loved to sign (before it all went to shit)

Someone needs to get sacked if this happens. However, no one takes responsibility or is held accountable at this club. the executives, the manager, and most of the players are all fuking about and stealing the fans money.

Whats worse is if we finish 6th with Ozil and Sanchez in the team, we could really fall of the cliff next season, as I have no faith in Wenger and the clubs ability or desire to replace such high quality players. I think Chamberlain will also leave, and Wenger and the board will make a dogs breakfast of replacing the players. We dont have CL football to sign Reus, or Griezmann, or Aubameyang, but whats more telling we wouldnt even bother competing for these players as there would be competition. Our first 11 next year is going to look shit. Although you can count on Walcott being here, as no one wants him

Let's see market in the summer, managers come calling: Moanhinio, Pep, Conte or even Klopp, Poch, Koeman....... or Wenger, immaterial of the club after the lest few seasons I know which Managers i'd rather play under.

I know you will always have the real mercenaries but i really, really struggle to see us pulling in top quality replacements next season if he is still here, i think after this season even the London club or very high money may not be enough for the real elite players to be willing to play under Arsene, the word amongst them must be out by now especially with all the negative publicity :banghead:

The problem is my little voice keep telling me he's going to be here next season no matter what :suicide:

If the state of the club remains in shambles (wenker still the manager) in the summer we're gonna be fucked. It's time for new denilsons, chamakhs, bendtners, djorous and silvestres. We are not going to get any top drawer players, no way in hell. There are talks about us signing Mbabbe, Griezmann etc, but does someone seriously think we'll beat the likes of Real and Barca or even the four other top PL clubs on signing anything except shit and rejects?

If the club is in a situation when you're fifth richest club in the world and you have to sell two of your only top players then some heads needs to roll.

But, I firmly believe that the money flow will dry out eventually if this circus is allowed to continue couple of more years. Arsenal brand is taking hits as we speak and it will eventually hit the club hard. There won't be endless stream of tourists coming to the games because all this protesting and madness that wenker is spouting out at the moment is getting more and more media time outside the UK also. If something that will end tourists to come to the Emirates, it's negative publicity. If Kroenke or the board had even two working brain cells they would realize that they need to remove wenker asap to prevent future damage that will come if he's allowed to stay. Fuck the value of the share or the club itself, it can come down in a blink of an eye if shit hits fan big time.

For tourists the main reason to go to the games (if you're not actual supporter of certain club) is to experience the English football culture, the atmosphere, the singing and quality football of course. That you won't get anymore at the Emirates and eventually people will understand this. There is only that much you can ride with past glories and for Arsenal those days are long overdue. London is full of other activities and also football and Arsenal doesn't have any privileges to them.

I heard on Talk Sport this morning (unconfirmed reports coming out of Arsenal) that Kroenke emphatically wants Wenger to stay (there's a surprise huh) and if he does re sign Gazidis is going to walk. There could be truth in that as the Gazidis statement re the breakdown between fans and manager has been widely publicised in recent weeks and IT HAS BROKEN DOWN...so if nothing happens Gazidis is going to be shown up for the weak, ineffective figurehead he actually is, and his position will become untenable.

New contract talks with AoC and Gibbs??? It just doesn't get any better does it. I'm beginning to think people who still support this man are as touched as he is.

This is absolute madness what is happening.

I think Sol Campbell was his only good signing. Koscielney came good but that's about it in 20 years.
