As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Of course Kroenke should not be offering Wenger a new contract but if he does and Wenger signs it is because he CHOSE to sign it ... meaning Wenger has chosen to stay and chosen to continue to hold the club back.
Nobody is denying Kroenke is a problem but the man is NOT forcing Wenger to stay at the club.
WENGER IS THE PROBLEM!
He's hardly forcing him out either is he by offering him a new deal?
Do you honestly think Lord Cuntchops is going to walk away from £8.5m (or whatever it is) if its being handed to him on a silver platter, free from any expectation of producing a competitive team? Ask yourself honestly, who would turn that down? The owner could make one phone call tomorrow and say "Arsene, that's all, pack your bags and fuck off" and everyone would have their wish......but he isn't going to is he?
He is neither forcing him out nor forcing him to stay. But we can go round in circles forever with who is to blame here.
Wenger should be walking away. He doesnt need the money. He should be decent enough to let the club move on after all we have given him. The fact that he wont do the right and honourable thing means he is a despicable self-serving cunnt ... so targetting him and trying to force him out is the priority.
Getting Kroenke will be a slow a process and if the aim in getting him out is to also get Wenger out then it will be an even slower process. Would a new owner immediately get rid of Wenger or try working with him for a couple of years first? I fear the latter.

Ah the old reliable do nothing stance. Works for me. How do you explain the "freebies" from the "sheep" season ticket holders then?
I like freebies to be honest; i guess steveo is the same! In fact im writing this from Bangkok airport as im heading home from a 2 week freebie at a beach resort in southern Thailand. Free food and drink too
Anyway, this isnt a pissing contest. Everyone protests in their own way. Its great that fans are protesting each week now as it cranks up the pressure but empty seats are great to see too
Sadly it seems to have become that way on here. Just like we had the Superfans like Highbury JD - the Ty of the forum - it appears now we have the uber organisers looking down at the rest of us from their lofty perches! Maybe one day I'll be just as important, sigh
Armchair, I don't know what your problem is mate. I've often praised you and the others for the banners. I want Wenger out and have done for years. I just happen to think it isn't as simple as that and if he does go, I'm not backing Kroenke to suddenly buck the trend of all the other shit 'franchises' he rapes and pillages and turns into mid-table also rans at best

Im not one of the organisers and I dont have a problem. I do my own thing and have done for years. And I havent seen anybody looking down on anyone else at all.
Tbf steve o, I don't think that armchair has a problem with you per se (here I go mind reading again ) - there are several posters on here that continually try to deflect the blame from wenker by putting it on kroenke, and that is really winding many of us up tbh. The likes of bully (on aftv) continually point the finger at kroenke, but he is not responsible for picking the team, setting up the tactics or do the motivation of players, and a better manager would improve those areas and we would see a major improvement in performances and results. Simeone or GG (for example) would achieve far more with this squad without even buying any more players, and that is why the financial and ownership issues should not be viewed as a reason or excuse for the pathetic decline of our great club. IF we succeed in getting rid of the arrogant senile cock, and if things do not improve in subsequent seasons, then we can rightly ask questions of the ownership of the club, but in the meantime I don't give a flying fcuk if kroenke never attends a game as long as le cock remains in situ

Honestly this hold Wenger has over people where everything and everyone is to blame except him is scary!
I can quite believe it, but trust me I'm not one of those people. Nine years I've been calling for Goonchops to be out and whilst I haven't had the ripping down of banners, I have been on the end of enough AKB grillings whether in the ground, pub, wherever.
I would honestly celebrate like fuck if it was announced tonight that he was leaving. I just feel that almost a week later when the clueless prick at the helm allowed him to 'move upstairs' and appoint his own successor we will all then see where the even bigger problem is.
armchair wrote:Theres loads of gooners who think Kroenke is to blame for Arsenals failure to properly compete.
I hear it on social media, on here and in grounds all the time.
Nothing to stop getting a group together and planning something. Make your voices heard. Do something tangeable.
I certaintly would have no problems with it. Dont see how people have problems with our approach.
The Kroenke is the problem mob are like London buses. You wait for one and two come along.
You get running commentary from people who say Kroenke should be targeted yet they fail to come up with credible ways of doing this.
And if he hands Wenger another 2year contract nothing changes. The immediate target will continue to be Wenger until his position becomes untenable.

I really don't get the insistence on painting a gloomy future whiles the dinosaur is still in-situ. It's like the financial gloom that was predicted post Brexit. You can't predict the future or legislate for an Arsenal post Wenger. We may well fail once the the fraud is out of the way but that's a debate for another time. United and the Moyes saga is a prime example why such a scenario won't last for long. Kroenke would want to protect his investment once Le fraud is out of the way .

I think it's not so much the deflection of blame to Kroenke that is the issue here but the fascination with Arsenal post Wenger. I've seen the same posters embark on this doom mongering exercise every time the subject comes up even tough it has been pointed out to them several times that this would be the next stage in the war. No one is under any illusion that getting rid of Wenger solves everything.

Have you actually read any of the posts I've put up here pointing out Kroenke's track record with ALL of his other franchises. It isn't some sentiment based on post-Wenger / Brexit style gloom at all.....don't even get me started on that fucking subject. It is based upon Kroenke's record over years and years - read the news mate, read what he's done to all the other clubs he's owned. Fleeced the fans, moved them the length of the country, presided over one unsuccessful year after another......and that's on his own patch. He doesn't have a European football contact worthy of the name and has appointed a bunch of equally faceless c,unts like Law and Gazidis to some of the most influential positions at the club. There isn't an Arsenal man left - just a bunch of fuckwits appointed by Kroenke. Does that make it any clearer or do you still want to cling to some child like comparison to a Mystic Meg doom and gloom type prediction?
Sorry to dash your little pipe dream that he'll fire Wenger, appoint Simeone or Allegri and make us the all conquering force of Europe......

I think we should call a truce here. I am not one of those who would have said any of that, I have been Wenger out for many years now, I had my doubts around 2008 after the collapse at B'ham and was firmly in the out camp shortly after, I am about as far removed from being an 'AKB' as you are.
I just get wound up by people saying Kroenke isn't the main issue, he's a different issue and a longer term one because he's likely to hang around well beyond Wenger (hopefully not), Wenger shouldn't even be here ffs and if you research what Kroenke's track record is like then there is little reason to be optimistic about the future under him.
I agree for now we should concentrate on Wenger though and tackle Kroenke if (when) he appoints a second rate successor, I would just rather they both f**ked off now rather than one at a time, something along the lines of two birds one stone.
