I have been in the Dam a few times and have yet to meet a man who passed by on the other side of the street. You pay your money and take your choice. Plus you don't have to sit and listen to endless crap about their friends relationships, five year plans and stories about their last boyfriendRob wrote:I went to the Amsterdam Tournament 2 years running in 2004 & 2005 - I think![]()
Great place and good atmosphere but the Ajax fans can be a bit violent particularly at the Stadium terminal.
Still - that apart - a GREAT PLACE !
Rijksmuseum was excellent. Red light district was all 'see' and no 'do'.
One of these 'ladies' in the window looked like Tutenkamen's grandmother - brandishing a whip![]()
Even most of the posters on here would have passed by on the other side.
I certainly did

I took my son last year to Amsterdam for the pre season games, Great place lots to do found everyone nice even the Ajax fans who like to sing "Yodo" on the tube which means Yida (they like spuds do the Ajax fans) We had a great time. Pic is from outside Amsterdam arena where they have toilets outside.
If you are thinking of going I would say go for it, it's cheap and a good laugh.

Yes Spuddy, they ARE off to Austria. Arsenal will be in training camp in the usual place for a week. At the moment they are due to play one game, I believe, possibly against a local side.
The place Arsenal go to, Bad Waltersdorf, is absolutely beautiful. I can see why Arsene wants to take the boys there year after year. The locals have come to know the pre-season travelling Gooners and a special rapport exists between Arsenal and the area.
