We've ridden our luck for years by squeezing into the top 4 at the expense of others but the chickens have come home to roost now and there's a long queue of them. The writing has been on the wall for a few months now and I think some fans are playing the devil's advocate by secretly hoping that we would somehow click into gear and magically sprint to the finish line ahead of others. I hate to be blunt but it's not happening I'm afraid. Ready yourselves for Thursday night football on channel 5.

Wenger's so called pact with the devil has been broken and the protests have certainly played a huge part. He is performing CPR on a team that's long dead and buried and there's a stark reminder of this after every couple of games. We are in unchartered territory now.
If he does go it will be kind of disappointing not to see him on a Thursday, late afternoon (5pm kick off) in some far flung Siberian like hell hole, snot dripping off his nose, plumes of freezing air exiting both his nose and mouth , eyes watering from the cold, jacket askew as that pesky zip fails him again, unable to have done his usual thorough pre match study of the oppositions strengths & weaknesses as he'd never heard of them before..........Oh joy

Yep, been saying this for months, we have no chance of top 4. We've relied for years on there being one or two sides more crap than us, but when you're on an inexorable downward spiral, the day will arrive when you are the crappest of the contenders. That day has arrived.

In previous seasons, the flakiness of the current Utd, City and Liverpool teams, would have seen us get 3rd or 4th this year, simply because we were a little less flaky. As poor as those 3 are, we have now assumed the position of weakest of the top 6.

If he hangs around for another 2 years, then will be struggling to stay above Everton, Southampton and even outliers like West Brom and Stoke. In two years time, finishing top half will be Arsene's "greatest achievement ever".......and many akb cretins will still believe it !!

Agreed - the (only) positive of him staying is getting to see his humiliation drawn out even longer :D

Sheer luck we're in the final, think it will run out against the chavs.

Dont rule out Kante being injured / suspended for the final. Wenger's luck knows no limit.
Kante or no Kante, we are on a 3-0 hiding i think :cussing: :censored:
You could well be right mate.

I think if Chelsea get a 1 or 2 goal lead they're more likely to shut the game down to make sure they don't concede so a thrashing is unlikely but who knows ...

I think we're looking at the kind of final we had against Villa two years ago but with us playing the part of the shit Villa side this year. 3-0 or 4-0 to the Chavs. If they get their noses two goals ahead, they won't sit back, they'll go for the thrashing because that's what hungry teams do.

Sadly flash, you're only a hyphen away from the inevitable. He will re-sign not resign

Nah I'm calling it now, he's gone, the ST renewals (or lack of) will seal his fate.

Also Gazidis said if his relationship with the fans breaks down.. well it has so I'm guessing Ivan is pushing for him to go and I'm sure he'll let Stan know if he overrules him the fans will be on Stan's back as much as Wenger's.

Of course winning the FA cup might help Wenger's cause so this makes cheering us on in the final 'tricky', but I think the odds are against us (him) anyway and Chelsea will probably win.

Come now Clash, you know very well that it's nothing to do with luck. He is, as we write, sitting down with Lucifer, signing over the remaining part of his soul, in return for a meteorite to strike the Chelsea bus en route to Wembley !!

We'll then have to play their under 15 side, who we'll despatch with ease......oh, hang on.........

I do too. However, we've been here before and the old *word censored* has survived. This time though I think the club have woken up to how much hatred there is for the man and how visible the bad relationship has become. He's done and everyone there knows it.

Last time there was a little bit of goodwill left from the majority of fans, I wanted him out in 2014 (and long before) but didn't feel the real anger I have about him now because of the way he has behaved over the last 12 months especially.

I was hearing stories a couple of years back of the club getting aggressive trying to say to people on the ST waiting list that if they didn't take one they'd be pushed to the back of the queue or along these lines, this stinks of desparation to me, the waiting list is bs now and as I said before if the hordes of gooners who 'rent out' or tx a lot of games can't get shot of them then they will soon start to give their ST up as it will start to cost them a fortune (to watch us play Eurovision league).

Maybe they can do a West Ham and sell £5 tickets to fill the ground to make it look like anyone gives a f**k whilst Wenger is around?.

or they could just do the same as when they were redeveloping the northbank back in 93 and put up a mural of a packed stand :barscarf:

Would be interesting for someone not on the waiting list to apply for a season ticket and see how quickly they got offered one :rubchin:

Anyway still not convinced he can't see this out, he is that obstinate and the club/board are that ineffective. Even if he does not re-sign as Manager i'm still convinced he'll be here as Director of football next year with a weak manager and him pulling the strings. :suicide:

The board just aren't capable of running the club without him and i think it terrifies them not having him to do the stuff they don't know how too, even if he does it poorly he is the one that does it. You can bet your arse he's spent the last few seasons convincing them of how crucial he is and how much it will cost them to replace him in all the different jobs he does :banghead:
