1. We beat Chelsea deny them the double and win 'a trophy'.
2. We lose and are neither in the CL or win a trophy and embarrass Wenger again making it harder than ever for the board to offer him a new deal.
We'll that is with a positive spin on I suppose..

Probably but at least it is going to make the board look like what they are.. spineless c*nts, they can't hide behind Wenger anymore.Gunner Rob wrote:the only trouble is that it looks like he is going to probably stay regardless....sk-gtfo wrote:It's a win win though really?.

Perhaps it is the optimist in me, but on balance I agree with Kevin Witcher's view that this is not yet a done deal and that not achieving either 4th place or the FA Cup will cook his goose.
It would be so much easier for me to believe he is going to stay regardless, because I could then enjoy the Cup Final and want us to beat the club I dislike most in the whole world with every fibre of my being. Instead, because 4th place is (or will be) gone and I think Wenger's future probably rests on the result of the final even more than it did 3 years ago, I am horribly conflicted. I can't wait for the match to be over. It is absolutely lose-lose for me......

I KNOW! Mental, right?!But seriously, I just have this gut feeling we will...
We always fuck up in the big games because the pressure is on, but this is a no pressure situation for our snowflakes. Nobody expects them to win, nothing is expected of them....they might just turn up, play with freedom.... and get Wenger another 2yrs!!!!

Last nights raft of empty seats was the most important and damning evidence that Wengers time is up. He can't reinvent himself and wont be able to create the enthusiasm to get the punters back and last night quite frankly is a prelude to next season. Kroenke is a businessman, those seats will only be filled if Wenger goes, ergo the board and owner will act, someone else comes in, the supporters are invigorated and bottom line is Kroenke's business model rumbles on. There's no more be careful what you wish for, those empty seats are where his business model is at. Doesn't look good to global tv audience, reduces income directly from ticket sales next year and hence advertising whilst last nights up sales income will be well down and impacting immediately. He will act, because he has to, he is running a business.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
The truth of the matter is that he is past his sell by date and that goes with all his out dated ethos and ethics on football in general...
He is constantly being quoted by the press with his loony remarks on teams that just turn up when the season is over therefore effecting his team, and advice to Chelsea, as if the new kid on the block on the verge of a Double needs your expertise....
Mr Wenger why are you relying on other teams to do the spadework for you, as they have done so many times in the past, you are an ungrateful old fart, and actually other clubs deride you, you are a buffoon and totally embarrassing...
Look at those empty seats, never mind the PA Official Sales announcement of over 59,000, just take a look at the EPOS Data (the number of times the green light flashes as you go through the turnstile
) those are the stats you should be looking at, and I can assure you there will be a great disparity...
You are lucky you have Season Ticket holders by the balls, because if it was pay per view there would be even less support..
Time to go....

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I agree that the empty seats might well be noticed much more than banners and flyovers. Season ticket sales will also be monitored closely. Given the exorbitant prices the club charges a decline in sales will have an impact.EastupperA wrote:Last nights raft of empty seats was the most important and damning evidence that Wengers time is up. Season ticket sales obv remain stable this year as they are prepaid BUT the match revenues will be declining markedly given ~15k people aren't turning up!!! This data set will impact Kroenke and he will act as Gazidis will be telling him he has to.....this is the only way the sociopath will be dethroned. Revenues are declining on all fronts whilst costs are increasing....and it's obvious to see by everyone that Wenger will not be able to arrest th decline of performance, BUT and this is the most important element, he will never be able to win the supporters (audience) back. If change is made to get Allegri or someone of his calibre into the club, fans will be reinvigorated and global revenues will move higher. Frankly you are paying Wenger 8m a year to destroy value, it's not something the owner will put up with, business is brutal and now Wengers usefulness has ended (we know this was years ago unfortunately) but from a business sense this the case now for him to go is compelling. It is glaringly obvious and Wenger can't reverse the negative momentum that he has created. Tata you egomaniacal, narcissistic twat.

That giggler & the other one...I think it was the other one, was questioning if Stoke were not on the beach??...Why do the journo's just sit there and not ask a follow up question??.....That Wenger said we will finish on 75 points, higher than last season..who cares you are still miles behind the leaders??...And Arsene how do you think you have managed to scrape into 4th every season??... It's precisely because all those teams were on the beach that's why.
Can't really take much of the bloke but well said. Funnily enough the same 2 who interviewed Poulter yesterday...they should have shot him down in flames as well.
The same two who interviewed Poulter, Hawksby & Jacobs, oohd & aahd when Poulter suggested that Wenger pick his successor...then 24 hours later went on a rant how outrageous it was that the press just sit there and do not challenge Wengers unadulterated press conference bullshit. So they do share the same viewpoint but didn't want to call out a "celebrity" golfer. Gottit??

59,500 bought tickets last night - thats all Kroenke will see and is bothered about.EastupperA wrote:Season ticket sales obv remain stable this year as they are prepaid BUT the match revenues will be declining markedly given ~15k people aren't turning up!!! it is not as if there were any protests, signs of dissent.
what you are forgetting is that Kroenke is not here to win trophies (he has stated as much) and so it is highly unlikely that he would want to appoint Allegri who would demand funds to try and actually compete.
As far as Kroenke is concerned Wenger is doing a wonderful job of deflecting criticism away from him and at the same time reducing expectations at the club.
The Europa League is actually perfect for the club as they do not need to sign any top players along with their ridiculous pay demands

The game went to general sale, are they really saying the game was sold out and the 20k that didn't turn up were all season tickets??Gunner Rob wrote:59,500 bought tickets last night - thats all Kroenke will see and is bothered about.EastupperA wrote:Season ticket sales obv remain stable this year as they are prepaid BUT the match revenues will be declining markedly given ~15k people aren't turning up!!! I'm sorry that is an incredibly naive view, business is more than just backward looking fixed sales. It's total income including overall match day revenues, CL monies, advertising revenues - particularly overseas etc etc. We shall see about ST sales for next year but one thing is sure the current situation is negatively impacting the brand and total gross revenue .....and Wenger is paid 8m to boot. That is not good business, especially given overall product offering has diminished over the last 11 years or so.
