Everything you said I totally agree with. Sums up the brainwashed cult of Wenger.

I was watching Juve the other night, Bonucci and Chiellni and the other guy who makes up their back 3 and saw the same commitment and drive that remind me of Adams and the old guard. I long to see that in our defenders again.

It will depend how old you are Kv. Unless you outlive Wenger, you'll never see it again. In fact, you'll never see anything worth seeing from an Arsenal side again ! He's only leaving in a box, so I reckon you'll have at least another 15 years to keep breathing. He knows that he can't win any trophys that the big boys want, so he'll make sure that his 160 years managing a top flight English club will be the biggest virtual trophy of them all. :barscarf: :barscarf:

With every day that passes and wenger is manager - he does more and more harm to the club as a football club as a long standing Football Club of Long Standing and Deep Traditions - Which he is helping to erode with every passing season he remains in charge.

Stared supporting Arsenal influenced from my dad in 1991 at the age of 8 so I hope to see a Wengerless Arsenal as soon as possible. However what you and OneBard and many others have said will there be an Arsenal left to go back to? Even after Wenger has gone he will still be worshipped and all the stuff about him building the club etc will be seen as gospel. I don't want it to sound melodramatic but I do wonder if i will ever fully regain the passion I once had for the club even when he has gone.

Ah, you are a mere stripling then ! With luck, you'll outlive the old fucker, but I suspect they'll have him cryogenically frozen until a cure is found for whatever carried him off and in the meantime they'll have a waxwork dummy of him propped on the bench......no one will spot the difference. Shouldn't be too difficult to fit basic mechanics that make the arms flap up and down and the ventriloquist dummy type mouth continuously open and shut when the 4th official gets within 3 yards and triggers a sensor.

Seriously, I share your concerns that :
1. The Club will ever return to what it was, either with or without Wenger and or Kroenke.
2. That I will ever be able to feel the way I once did, no matter what the future holds for the Club.

I was catching up on my 5Live Football Daily podcasts and I was amused to hear TOF after the last game claim his contract runs to 30th June! It's actually to the end of May, Arsène

I've found it for you, mate 8)

I agree that I hate how his cult of personality will likely hang over the club forever, unless a successor actually wins the Champions League. I have to agree with Retro; our manager will never walk away until he keels over like Jock Stein. The club will immediately announce him as 'Eternal Manager', embalm him like Lenin and Bouldy will still only be allowed to put the cones out :suicide:

Some mistake here surely Sean ( not by you I hasten to add ) cos I cannot find mention of the Norwich hospital cup (shared) etc, etc nor even the prestigious Makita trophy that I witnessed in the flesh :barscarf:

Sums it up really.

Still can't believe people are actively defending Kroenke, what is that all about, seriously?!.

Just because Wenger should be long gone doesn't mean no else is to blame, after all who is to blame for him being here?, still no answer to my question about who is to blame if/when Wenger renews (markp aside).

I guess if you think Kroenke isn't to blame you must be expecting Allegri or someone near that calibre to come in next month right?. :rubchin:

Not expecting any reply because everything is Wenger's fault in some people's eyes, I think they let him wind them up, I just ignore the crap he comes out with, Wenger should be an irrelevance to Arsenal 2017.

Still at least I'll be able to relax next season (if I'm right), no more energy wasted stressing about a club with zero ambition, I'm sure plenty on here will still be ranting and raving about Wenger though..

US martin is that you? its all about the board!

The fact we have already signed the Schalke left back means he is definitely staying.

Free transfer and not wanted by any of the big clubs is a textbook Wenger signing.

American's certainly are the problem.

This thread needs closing, seriously what more needs saying about Wenger?, he should have gone years ago but Kroenke keeps him, then people rant and rave at Wenger for staying when our cowboy keeps giving him 9 million reasons to stay!.

Would be funny if it was another club.

Again who is to blame when Wenger is still here next season?, Wenger no doubt.

Speaking in his autobiography Sober, serialised in the Sun, he said: "Perhaps Arsene thought I might be too challenging for him.

"He seemed to like an assistant such as Pat Rice or Steve Bould, both great club men who were not going to ruffle feathers.

"Arsene is so dominant that he was probably not going to like it if I said, 'We're conceding bad goals, I'm going to take the back four today and organise them'.

"Because Arsene is essentially not a coach - and that is the second reason why I believe he didn't want me. Back in the day I said in an interview coaching wasn't Arsene's strong point.

"Actually in the original draft, I said he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. And though I modified that in the final article, it didn't go down well.

Captain, leader, LEGEND.

And worth more as a true Arsenal man than some of the sycophants from the great invincibles era who have missed no chance to fawn over Wenger despite all evidence of his shortcomings.

The stick he has had from staying away from Arsenal since he left. Totally unfair. Like so many of us, he wants to remember the club as it once was. Not as it has become.

so we have another Arsenal player affirming Wenger doesnt like confrontation.

I remember when Nasri once said Wenger used to give the players the silent treatment after a horrible performance and result. I thought that was so unhealthy. The silent treatment is a juvenile and passive aggressive means of punishment. No communication and guidance in instructing the players why Wenger is unhappy - all because he doesnt like confrontation. So he does nothing, and turns up on Monday for training as if nothing happened. No inquests or discussion in terms of getting to the bottom of root issues - as Wenger doesnt like confrontations, so all is forgotten.

Now wonder the same issue dog us year after year.

'Doesn't like confrontation' is an excuse, not a trait. People who don't like confrontation either don't want to deal with issues that need dealing with ie: bury head in sand and hope they go away and/or they do not have any answers so don't want to even put themselves into that situation. Classic Wonga on both counts! Adams also calls Rice and Bould spot on, nice fellas but yes men!!
