As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Now football is supported by companies sponsors merchandising a complete turnaround with several income streams.
Arsenal PLC introduced another tier of support in Club Level being above Golds ie Season ticket holders.
Football has been snatched from your average supporter and I still cannot comprehend how ST holders stump up large amounts of cash season in season out!
The price of loyalty has no limit, the price set by Arsenal PLC has always been met, and then we moan at ticket prices!
This is a cash cow and Kroenke knows full well at this moment in time if a few supporters are unhappy they will be replaced instantly.
I wish WHL was ready for this season, just to see competition for TOURIST support in North London which this club heavily relies on!
He might then realise that he does not have the monopoly in sales especially as Tottenham are definitely on an upward spiral and we are on a downward one....
that has got to change at Arsenal.
people have got to realise that they actually hold all the power.
the business model is based on the season tickets. if there wasn't a season ticket waiting list then how many people would actually renew?
people say that they are waiting for change whilst keeping their season tickets - sorry but that change is not going to happen whilst you still keep them. the fact is that if there had been mass boycotts 3 years ago then the manager would have already gone and Kroenke might by now be considering selling up.
as it is the club is sleep walking into the abyss.

The point is, if you give up your season ticket you drop right back to the bottom of the list. It is not like you can defer for a year or two. The fact that you may have held it for 40+ years cuts no ice. Realistically what is the chance of getting it back once things improve, when tickets would be in higher demand anyway?
You may think mass boycotts is the way to go but the only drop off in crowd is once we can no longer win the league. Our sheeple at the Emirates will never do anything like that as most simply do not care.
what makes you think that Arsenal will suddenly turn up on Saturday (with a makeshift defence) and beat the best team in the country over 90 minutes ?
I appear to be one of the more optimitic people on here (regarding the match on Saturday) and even I think we will narrowly lose, draw at best.
I think our best chance of winning would be if we took them to extra time (like the City game) and so no I dont think that the 19/5 to win in 90 minutes is over priced
Bob Bayliss wrote:So is Mustafi really likely to miss the Cup Final? Nearly two weeks out with concussion? Must have been some bang on the bonce!
Sounds excessive. I have had the joy of 3 concussions in my 30+ year playing career (cue augieslop with the broken body jokes ) and was back training and playing within 5 days. Ok 10 days on one of them - but I also had been knocked clean spark out unconscious and had 20 stitches in my head. But you get my point. Fucks sake most coaches (and a few doctors ) didn't even believe in concussion in those days!
How fucking precious are these fucking modern players?
That's a serious issue and I would never make a joke about it - I heard you was running for a ball, and you hit your head of the knee of the guy off the other team (it's a dangerous game when you allow umpa lumpas play against the bigger boys )

I appreciate this, and this is the argument that has been used for years and why in the past you would definitely have been right.
things have changed though
1) it will be interesting to see how long the waiting list is after this summer. A lot of people really have had enough now.
Is it really as long as everyone thinks?
2) realistically things are not going to improve whilst Kroenke is the owner and so you are looking at years of failure and mediocrity to come.
He is NOT interested in winning, won't invest any money, and won't leave. the only thing I admire about Kroenke (although I hate him) is that he consistently says things as they are. He is honest with the fanbase, just a pity that most of the fanbase ignores what he says.

TBH Arsenal PLC's Season Tickets terms and conditions were a master stroke!
The Season ticket waiting list was an absolute money spinner, £15 X let's say 35,000 on list is over £525,000 for maintaining a list, and how many actually took it up? Those who didn't years ago had a years grace before being put to the back of the list, after that they just pocketed £15, Luvly jubbly Arsenal PLC get fatter!....
Then Silvers are being offered a three year fast track for ST's at £4 for three years, where you will be offered a ST!
Everything revolves round ST's and it will change like a chameleon changes its colours till they meet their ST benchmark..
We have the richest supporters in the land, and Kroenke knows this, but their is no harm in preparing what if scenarios just to keep the cash cow afloat!....

My argument is based on not now, but when we start doing well again, season tickets (especially lower tier) will be like gold dust again.
I also disagree with your pessimistic view on point two. There is no reason to believe that if we get the right manager in, why we can't look forward to success. 8.5m a year will get you virtually any manager out there.

any top manager will want to actually spend money. he will need to as well considering the dross we have accumulated.
that requires ambition - City have it, Chelsea have it, Spurs have it, and funnily enough they all finished in the top 3 this year.
Kroenke has consistently stated he has no ambition to win titles, he is just not interested.
so first of all we wont get a top manager and secondly things right now are as good as they are going to get.

To be honest Augie, I was thinking that those serious blows to his nut explain quite a lot.

Money has been available to spend. It is just that our current manager has wasted it.
Unfortunately we have a perfect storm - unambitious owner and an unambitious manager.

Eggist.
I Love the FA CUp Competition - Right back from the days when it was one of the rare, rare games shown in full on the TV - before we have 4 channels, never all this Terrestrial / skyshyte/verginvomit etc
But I am so fearful of us being Utterly Humiliated on Saturday...I really cannot build up ANY Enthusiasm - I would be a million % more excited if I head that wenger had fuckedOff.
Thanks wenger youCUNT - You have made my life as a Gooner miserable.
