Eduardo is made of the right stuff (9/7)
Usual thread starter… I’m looking forward to seeing our new signing on Saturday at Barnet, where I’m sure all of the first team regulars will appear with the obvious exception of Gilberto (and maybe some of the African contingent if the Cup of Nations qualifiers mean a delayed return for them). I think a lot of fans have a good feeling about Eduardo. At least he’s already broken his duck at the stadium, eh?

I seem to recall that Gilberto Silva also had it tough as a youngster. I think he had to quit football as a kid to earn money. As I recall when he was about 15 years old his mother was ill so he became the family provider. He worked as a labourer and in factories I think. After three years he still wasn’t earning much so tried his luck at football again.
Totally agree about Dudu though. The Croatian league may not be all that but they are not afraid to kick people. Can't see him being intimidated by the likes of the Neville sisters or other w@nkers of that ilk.
Another plus is that with Dudu we now have a far more balanced team as well - with at least three really good left footed players likely to be playing in the team.

Yes, the more I hear about Eduardo, the more excited I am about seeing him playing for us.
Sure, the Croation league isn't all that much, but hes scored a fair few in internationals (7 in 12 I think) and he managed to score against us.
With the opportunities we create, he could well be the golden boot this season. Despite the fact that I legally can't gamble, I think I'll give someone some money to bet on him being top scorer...

Eduardo
Just what we need. Left footed. Takes pens. Heads the ball as if he means it. Puts away rebounds. Have we got anybody else who can do all that?

This story is a bit over exaggerated, but not too far from the truth.
Dudu was 15 when his agent Suzano(pretty dodgy character) brought from Rio to Zagreb. It was in January and it was -10 degrees Celsius and 12 inches of snow,so you can imagine the shock for young Brazilian who just came from hot sands of Copacabana!Despite the snow(first in his life),strange language and unknown teammates,Dudu showed his class and club decided to give him a chance,so he unpacked his bags in a country far away from his Brazil. His agent suddenly left him all alone(imagine that!) and Dudu was left with nothing,no money,no passport,no friends, just the club. It's true that he lived on stadium premises, but only for a while, certainly not in cold(although it was chilly for someone who just came from southern hemisphere).I know that, from journalist's point of view,it sounds more effective that he was freezing to death, but it's just not true.
He outclassed his teammates in cadet and junior categories, and was given a chance for seniors(professionals,a-team),which he blew because he was seriously injured but he didn't tell anyone about it!He was scared he would be dismissed and sent back for Brazil!Imagine that willpower,he was suffering great pain and didn't say a word.Luckily, injury was picked up by coaches and he was sent for immediate operation. He recovered well and no one held a grudge for keeping injury to himself. He showed us he's got the will for big things.
So,Dudu made it pro.His debut was in croatian Supercup(our version of Community shield),Dudu came as sub and immediately scored against our archrivals Hajduk Split(btw,in tkeir trophy room there's trophy that was given to them by ManU as a reminder of ManU's biggest euro-defeat,it was 6-0 for Hajduk!).
The legend was born!
Unfortunately, due to the incompetency of our various managers,Dudu was either sub,or on loan,he was even called Da Svila(cro. svila=silk) instead of Da Silva.
Now he's called Da Sila(cro. sila=force,power)!
To cut the long story short,Dudu met beautiful Local girl, got married, got a kid, became Croatian citizen, made U21 cap,and all the time he couldn't stop scoring!
It was shame that Pompey's Niko Kranjcar's dad was our national team manager for World Cup 2006,because he didn't care about Dudu(wasn't in our WC team),only for his fat, slow son....
He was our captain, this year league's top scorer and top assister(the year before he was second scorer, but only because he didn't take penalties).
Dudu is so friendly guy, regular next-door-neighbour type, simple but very determined,injury-resistant,very cool finisher, quick and unpredictable dribbler, but best of all-he 's got nose for goal!
We all here in Croatia hope he'll get his chance and quickly adapt to EPL,and if he does that you'll get new idol.
As for us,there are plans to retire his #24 jersey, but only thing guaranteed is-we're counting days for his return,he promissed it,and we know he'll keep up on his word!
I hope you don't mind such a long post, but I believe you deserve to know something(everything) about your new player.
Go gunners,go Dudu!

top info maxspeed. will use this as a basis for a post on the main part of the website. i did say the piece was in the news of the world (which has been known to stretch the truth!) so i guess it should have been read with caution originally. but your version certainly confirms his strength of character.
No problem,if you have any questions about Dudu,I'm your man.
You just can't believe journalists, they'll write anything that smells like sensation.
Few new infos from Croatia:real transfer price was 10mGBP(about 15m€) to Dinamo, and 30,000GBP per week to Dudu.
Seems like Wenger will buy our new captain and playmaker as well, only not now,but in January.
His name is Luka Modric, probably even better than Dudu.
He's combination of Xavi,Cesc and Pablo Aimar.
Price tag will be about the same as Dudu's(we've already turned down Shakhtar Donetsk's 15m€ offer!).
Money is money and Shakhtar is ok club, but Arsenal...

It's quoted:"not to disturb dressing room".Whose I don't know.
It's more probable that there was deal in hand between Dinamo and Arsenal, because fans(hardcore ones) wouldn't take it to well(google Bad Blue Boys-you'll see),cause if we loose him now,we can kiss our euro-dreams goodbye.
Does that mean that this autumn is last chance for some Arsenal midfielders,it remains to be seen.
Dinamo's "motto" was:"nema predaje, nema prodaje!"(no surrender,no sell out),and Dudu was sold merely bacause Arsenal wanted him(PSV,WBA and Shakhtar were turned down).
We tried to sign Robert Kovac from Juve and don't sell anyone, but this was "undecent proposal",.
I believe that's our last sell this summer(hopefully).
These days you can't be sure in anything except dying...
