THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

But to blame the failure to remove him on those who didn't stand up isnt right !
The Owners don't give a shit about us they only care about money .
If the renewals uptake of the premium seats /boxes is low then he will be under pressure from the start,if not they wont care a single shit !~
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, but I will blame those who didn't stand up!

The club can ignore 1000 people, but how about if it had been 10-20k people repeatedly protesting?
We will never know because it didn't happen.

Is there 10-20k people who wanted him out? I dont think there is. On this forum its almost 100% want him out but on the broader scale its 50/50 at best.... You were never getting 10-20k protesting as there arent that many protesters quiet or not

We are planning a meeting in June to decide on strategy and when we start a fresh attack....we might go after Kroenke as well in order to get more waverers on our side. Be nice if we had the fixture list...we could identify in advance where the beatings will be coming from.. I have a feeling Huddersfield away might be another torrid day out for the petals. A Stoke like, wild, fear packed afternoon.

Anyone with any ideas how to keep the pressure on the club please PM me.

Don't know how this fits in with your meeting but the fixtures are released 14th June.

the best thing anyone can do right now is to try and prevent ST holders from renewing.
I have started on a work colleague this morning (last week he wasnt going to renew) but of course he had a nice day out at Wembley....tickets are going to cost less.....

so I said to him the tickets will cost less because you will be watching a lower level of football and dont forget we wont be playing on Saturdays hardly ever...he is now thinking about it again

Regarding Kroenke - I think this is probably the right strategy now that this week has clearly demonstrated how they are interlinked.
the goal still needs to be Wenger out but maybe the best strategy to achieve this is to target Kroenke (whilst not losing sight of the original goal)

Also, can anyone comment on this claim;

"In one particularly unpleasant episode, when a group of “Wenger Out” fans were filmed outside the Emirates Stadium singing anti-Wenger songs, at least one of their number sang he will be “happy” when Wenger “dies”."

This tosser lost all credibility in my mind, as soon as I saw that his name was Chas Newkey Burden !

Sadly typical of the modern Arsenal supporter....upper middle class, pseudo metropolitan, fake intellectual. No doubt lives in Canonbury, in a property that he bought with his trust fund. The Club will love him.

He says that he cant see any other manager keeping at their current level if wenger leaves - after getting our arses handed to us annually in Europe by the first half decent side we face, and not getting within 10 points of the title for years, I would hope that no other manager would keep us at that level

Haha, I read that article this morning and thought exactly the same even before seeing you post this, so naive to think everyone will just magically "come together" now that OGL has signed on again for another £10M PA to target the fake top 4 trophy on behalf of Silent Stan's investment. If there is enough of these dimwits to fill the bowl then we really are screwed.

I am optimistic though.. as in optimistic there are not enough of them that are this delusional, give it a season or two and the Emirates will regularly see crowds of 40,000 as the happy clappy crowd are the only one's left.

Alex Hleb telling it like it is...

http://metro.co.uk/2017/05/31/arsene-we ... b-6674504/

People criticise him, but he’s fantastic. Arsene is Arsenal. Everyone associates the club with Wenger.

Yes, but that's exactly who they want.

Season tickets paid on standing order, Half and half scarf bought before every game, Sit down, shut up, go 5 mins. early to avoid the rush.

Job Done Wenger. Job Done!

Herd, I agree that the Club don't give a fuck about us, or what we think (especially we old chool Gooners), but I have to say that Nick and Augie are right imo. If enough people joined the protests, they'd have to take more notice.

Let's be honest, we caused quite a stir and in essence, there was no more than a handful involved. I said at the time, that this blaming of so-called jcl's and tourists for the apathy was bullshit. I know plenty of dyed in the wool, lifelong Gooners that still back Wenger, or at least wouldn't protest. There are about 40,000 season ticket holders and they certainly aren't all jcl's and by definition aren't tourists. If only 10% had joined the protests, that would have been 4,000 people marching on the stadium. They couldn't ignore that.

Despise Wenger as I do, it's hard to blame him for satisfying his ego and greed and it's hard to blame Kroenke for endorsing a formula that is working just fine for him. The blame for allowing these two unprincipled parasites to get away with it, lies with the witless, supine fanbase, that sit on their hands and do nothing.

As they say, the people get what they deserve and boy, do the Arsenal supporters deserve Wenger.
