How low can Utd go?

Post by Rob Admin »

Just how low can a club stoop, look at Fergie sipping champagne in a press conference, slurring his words and looking like he's had a rough night on a park bench.

Image

They also made a United legend where the new track suit in the Wigan game in a PR excercise which was painful to watch, and then they suddenly all appeared wearing them for the shootout.

Very un-Arsenal.

Just think Rob, that could have been Avram Grant sitting there alongside the likes of Kenynon and Cashley sipping the champagne!!  :x And imagine seeing endless repeats of those Samsung ads featuring the Chavs. Now that would have been far, far worse!!

He does look like an old Wino just wish he has a can of Special Brew in his hand instead of champers

The difference is no other manager or club would let their manager behave in this manner. It is shocking - checkout Sky Sports News today and you'll see what I mean.

Just further highlights the classy manner in which Arsenal does things!

Have to say if you've just won the EPL and CL Double, I think you're entitled to a glass of bubbly.

I think it's a bit more 'classy' than finishing third and getting knocked out in the Q/Fs :(

i'm not deny him the right to celebrate with a glass of whatever he likes, but no Arsenal manager would be allowed to conduct an interview as Fergie has done today appearing half cut.

Just as our manager's do not jump around on the touchline celebrating goals in the style of a sunday league boss.

I'm proud that we don't win at any cost, we achieve "victory through harmony" and do things the correct way... the Arsenal way.

Have to agree with the first bit of Rob's post, robbourne, you're being a bit high and mighty about this aren't you?! I might not like Fergie, but why shouldn't he break out the champagne? Anyway, it's not that long since the words "Arsenal" and "alcohol" were often used in the same sentence, and in more embarrassing circumstances than this.

Oh, I don't know robburne. The Chavs have a habit of being even more distasteful whenever they get the opportunity. Can you imagine the dross coming out of Kenyon's mouth had they won, about how the Chavs are now the number 1 club in Europe? Not to mention all the marketing possibilities they would exploit which would enable them to get even more money and maybe not have to rely on Roman as much in the long term.

As for Arsenal Football Club doing things with a bit of class: maybe in the old days there was a lot of truth to that (although Henry Norris might be an example from the past people could bring up), but I'm not sure that applies any longer. Unfortunately they have proved in recent times to be just as mercenary as the next club when it comes to money raising ventures and exploiting opportunities.

Have to say I agree with reference to the white Sports World tops which are Chav tastic - but surely the guy can have some champers.

I remember the bollocks being spouted around when Freddie Flintoff had a few after the ashes, at the time I thought it was a gross over reaction to a national hero, and I liked the fact that he was only doing what most of us would do if we had achieved something remarkable in our lives.

At the end of the day Fergusmoan has like Freddie worked hard this season - we may not like his work - but he has got the two biggest prizes in Euro football and I cannot begrudge him a bevvy!!

Cannot see the problem myself.

I guess I have higher expectations than most then?

One of the reasons Arsenal made such an indeliable impression upon me as a kid was because it all seemed so 'proper' and stately at Arsenal, we were/are an institution and I like to think (perhaps naively) more than just another football club.

Perhaps this is no longer the case then, perhaps our values, like society in generally is slowly slipping down the pan!

Ordinarily I wouldn't begrudge anyone celebrating something with a glass of bubbly, but personally I'd quite cheerfully deprive Fergiescum of the oxygen in his lungs, never mind the drink in his hand.

And he does look like a derelict.

Tony Adams was so pissed after Anfield he slept on the steps of the main entrance at Highbury and he was our greatest captain ever.

As others have said Fergie has earned the right to behave the way he has,His team stopped Cashley,Terry and the rest of them Crunts from the Fulham road winning the big one.Can you imagine how the Chelsea players would have celebrated if they had won.
