Pat rice rumour!!!!

Older members will remember a heated debate that I and IHH had about the prospect of TA returning to the club. I have, however, warmed to the idea a little, I think. 8)

If the rumour about Pat's wife is to be true then he must do the right thing. Maybe the time is right for a change of a number 2 he has seemed a bit "stale" the last few months when a more animated assistant would have pushed us on when needed in the later part of the season. Tony Adams would be ideal with his defensive background and just remeber what Martin Keown done for us a couple of years ago when he concentrated on the back four (a champions league record)!

Seen a few people mention Tony Adams as a repalcement if Pat does retire. Personally I would want to see someone more experienced.

Saying that I would always welcome him back as a defensive coach.

Hope the rumour about his wife isn't true and that if it is, we give him some job when it is over.

Just received an e-mail from Arsenal's press officer, here's an extract from it:
Pat is currently on holiday with his wife and both are very well. Pat is looking forward to pre season training, remaining as assistant manager for the new season.

Out of curiousity. Why did the press officer email you?

Seems odd that the press officer would respond to members of the public. I kind of figured they handled the media rather than general enquiries from the public.

the press office do trawl the arsenal sites and correct perceived misinformation. there is a sizeable staff there so they have time for that sort of thing
