UEFA president has said it's illegal nonetheless.Having at least 1 English player on the field:
Sorry, know this one isn't popular, especially around here. Me, I couldn't care less about the English national team since there's not 1 single player I like there anymore. However, we are playing in the England and not to have 1 single Englishman is taking the piss a little.
Changes I'd like to see in the EPL.

I like choice of 3 subs from 7 on bench.RNTGOONER wrote:I dont want 7 subs, gives advantage to bigger clubs with bigger squads.
Allows for a younger player to get onto bench, maybe get on pitch for last 10 minutes if we are winning, get some experience.
I would like to see goalkeepers that handle ball outside area give away a penalty rather than get sent off, for an offence that is not violent yet gets a too draconian red card.
Not in favour of transfer caps, or nationality quotas etc.
Let the free market reign.
Cannot see a ticket price cap ever coming in either.

True, but id prefer it if most of these ideas would just be gentlemen agreements between the clubs actually.rocky7 wrote:UEFA president has said it's illegal nonetheless.Having at least 1 English player on the field:

I like the idea of restricting transfer fees but not as little as £15M - I think if a club is profitable it should be able to use those profits, but reduced by overall debts of the club - This would clearly stop Chelski & Manure spending like they do.
I also think that wage capping should be introduced. Not for individual players but for clubs. This would mean you could have a few Galactico type stars on mega salaries, but the bulk of the squad would be more realistically paid.
Also restricting the 1st team squad to 20 from 25 would be a positive step. People talk about larger squads, but reducung the amount of 1st team players would reduce the squad player philosophy of having mediocre players as back up.
Of course all of this would be pointless, if other countries didn't adopt the same policies

Very good idea..would mean the league would get a bit more exciting as well as it would mean players like Sidwell, SwP etc had play for midtable teams rather vthan being 3rd chioce at Cska.AFC 49'er wrote:
