Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Wenger said in his press conference that we always react well to losing our best players. I don't know what he means by this. If reacting well is slipping down to 6th with Sanchez and Ozil in the team then without them who knows.
Also a lot of gossip on Wilshere but he is no saviour for Arsenal. At best he will stay injury free but I doubt it very much.
I will be very surprised if we don't sell at least one of them and even more surprised if Wenger buys anyone. I think the club are settling for a period outside the Champions League because the prize money is not so important anymore.
I could be wrong but it feels like Arsenal have thrown the towel in and there is no real pressure to improve.
We have been boring to watch this season and that's being kind.

funnily enough George Graham NEVER had consecutive finishes outside of the top 4.
why do we continue with this out of date, out of touch, arrogant excuse of a manager![]()

Well here's a consolation prize for you...you won't have to see those windwill arms on the touchline for the next month or so. Of course the real winner here is the 4th official.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
React well to losing our best players? Like when we sold Fabregas and Nasri (which he categorically said we would not do) and started the season with 4 defeats in 7 games, including a goalless draw at Newcastle, a 2-0 Home defeat to Liverpool and an 8-2 thrashing at United before August was out?
Or perhaps the following season when (after selling van Persie) we started the PL season with 5 wins in the first 15 games?
Thankfully we haven’t had any “best players” left to lose since then.

Every single day he's an embarrassment to the club.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
That is exactly what is going on, why I don't go anymore and wont spend a penny on anything "offical Arsenal", this is what wiggy does, he creates mediocre sports franchises and we are now one of them, as far as I am concerned Arsenal FC is dead and buried and whatever you call what is left, well, I don't really care what happens unless the club is sold on to someone who gives a s**t for sporting reasons, rather than seeing it as a pension plan/property portfoilio type entity.supergeorgegraham wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 1:54 pmI think the club are settling for a period outside the Champions League because the prize money is not so important anymore.

Wenger just plays along with it for his £10M a year and because he is so obsessed with accountancy because of his many shortcomings as a football manager.
I don't see the point getting upset by defeats and losing our best players because this is what we'll be getting for the foreseeable future under Wiggy, even when 'moneyball' Wenger leaves, just f*cking laugh because there is no point crying over spilt milk.
Relegation?, bring it on.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
90% of my posts on here are basically just me absolutely slating Wenger and the other 10% are me banging on about our Nat's milkers.
But in a change to your normal scheduling I'm actually going to give the man some kudos for the next few sentences. When you directly translate the FA quote - "questioning the integrity of a match official" what you're left with is that Wenger has called Mike Dean a fucking cheat.
Hear fucking here!
Right, back to your normal programming now. Instead of moaning about the fucking fixture scheduling again why not manage your squad over the Christmas period instead of picking the same 11 every single fucking game?
Bar pretending Ozil is sick every few weeks his squad management is completely non existent. We played a lot of the shit sides in December which presented us with the perfect opportunity for squad rotation to keep us fresh but he flogged the same 11 every game.
Koscielny who we're told has a chronic achilles problem played all the games - the result? He's now crocked. If Holding wasn't trusted to play against dross like Palace, West Brom or Newcastle then he might as well fuck off.
Likewise Walcott and Welbeck, whatever you think of them, should be used against the the dud sides and keep things fresh when the games are coming thick and fast. Does it happen? Does it fuck and now we're left with a half jaded, massively out of sorts side heading in to the chav game.
Absolute piss poor shit management but sadly exactly what we've come to expect from Monsieur SFB

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
You've hit the nail on the head there. We are slowly settling into a period of mediocrity with the worst possible manager in charge.supergeorgegraham wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 1:54 pmI could be wrong but it feels like Arsenal have thrown the towel in and there is no real pressure to improve.

In reality we are not doing anything different to what we've down in years gone by. We are remarkably consistent, run our own race and patiently wait for others to fall by the way wide. It's now become very congested at the top and historically inconsistent teams like Spurs and Liverpool have found stability.
We will hit around the 70points mark again but it won't be enough. Once you're out of the top 4 you need to spend millions to get back in let alone compete for the title and as you say the club has tacitly thrown in the towel. Years of underinvestment, especially the failure to buy any outfield player in the 15/16 summer window has finally taken its toll and we've ended up with a very lopsided squad. They will spend just about enough to maintain the bottom line but that's it. We are now a fully fledged cup side and it's not going to change anytime soon.
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
This - we have 38 points after 21 games so yes 70 points or just below is likely, as you say though the likes of Spuds and Liverpool have moved up a good few points in terms of consistency where as we have stayed the same or dropped a little, City, Chelsea and United have generally been ahead for just over a decade, largely because of more money (and ambitious owners), don't ask Arsene, Ivan or Stan though they will bring up financial doping and stadium repayments as the perfect excuses for failure.
We are very consistent within a narrow confine which is boring enough but add in the boring football that is now served up and I'm surprised the stewards at the Emirates don't have to walk around at full-time waking half the crowd up (the one's who bother to turn up!).
Everything is stale, the seats at the Emirates are beginning to look washed out, well from what I can see on TV (plenty of empty one's to spot!), Wenger is stale, the players have no idea what to do and the board are too busy buying ranches, playing golf or drinking whiskey and smoking cigar's at White's or the Carlton club to bother with trivial affairs like football.
Ivan seems to be making moves behind the scenes though so don't panic, thank you for your interest in our affairs..

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
We haven't lost anyone of note for the last 3 seasons and not only have got worse, we finished outside the top4. When we sold our best players every summer we continued to remain in the top 4. We have finished higher with arguable a poorer quality of squad than we have now.supergeorgegraham wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2018 1:54 pmWenger said in his press conference that we always react well to losing our best players. I guess the point he's missing the bigger players who have played at bigger clubs, and on bigger international stages don't get motivated by him after a couple of years, pay him lip service and do what they liked. Possibly a reason why he did move them on. Players who believe they are lucky to be at Arsenal continue to believe in the manager. That's why replacing Sanchez with Zaha makes sense to Wenger. Replacing Sanchez with Draxler doesn't make sense to Wenger. The other obvious point is that he doesn't understand is that he is past his best.

Referred to referee's ego yesterday..What a hypocrite...Project ego has cost Arsenal ten years of competing at the top levels.

I think the review system in cricket works quite well - 2 'appeals' per match for each team and that is it, I don't think it works well in Rugby where the ref can check everything, it will slow the game down too much.
Anyway whatever, Wenger's a c**t.
