The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

BREAKING: Arsenal confirm Konstantinos Mavropanos transfer from PAS Giannina

Evening Standard

This time last year, we signed that child who played for a school team or something and worked in a car plant. This year, we've signed a bloke who is only known by his family and neighbours. We bought better players than this when we played in the park in bloody Plumstead.

Wenger says "No, it;s not a possibility" to Aubameyang.

Is that because you have turned Arsenal into an average club where no decent player wants to go you c**t!

We know that to be the truth, but the deceitful cun.t would never consider such a thing he is so deluded.

Who could forget Arsenal legend Cohen Bramall? :barscarf:

According to Alan Alger on Footballistically Arsenal, he should be playing for the Dog & Duck after his contract expires

I heard Wilfred Zaha was being lined up as Sanchez's replacement, and I thought, yeah that sounds like something we would do.

Wasn't there a rumour that Nasri was going to re-join the club in January as he currently is clubless?
If Debuchy and Walcott gonna leave we're losing the leading players from our Europa League team.

I think it would be more like us to sell Sanchez and buy Zaha's second cousin or something.

Sanchez off ?
Walcott going to Southampton ?
Giroud we almost sold to Everton (willingly) possibly off ?

What internal solutions can plug the gaping holes ?
Mid season is a time to strengthen not weaken your already under par squad :banghead:

:coffeespit:

Oh no - that would be awful. Losing 2 world class players like Debuchy and Walcott might mean we don't stroll majestically to winning Europe's 2nd tier competition. We'd better hope they stay so that we don't drop down a level in Europe

Told you it's all about money.. top 6 is the same as the order of money spent

Of course in our case we should really be 4th in the list, which is where we normally finish..

The PL is a joke and there is no chance we can compete with Kroenke around, he simply wont allow enough to be spent.

Zzzz..

As much as we all hate losing I think we may have to get used to it and finishing 7th or even 8th as the deluded old fool carries on doing things his way and we slide out of even Europa Cup contention for next season.

I see another one of our 'nearly signed XI' will retain his place in that team, when Lemar signs for Liverpool as Coutinho buggers off to the land of card waving fairies. Hopefully he'll be able to supply our nearly signed goal machine Higuaín with the assists he needs !

Now that's how you deal with a want away player - 145m quid??? Fucking hell. They'll actually strengthen the squad of the back of it for a net spend of 20 million with Van Dijk already in and Lemar to follow. Now that's how to run a football club.

I thought it was going to be more and more common to see players running down their contracts and walking away for nothing

Also worth nothing that Couthino would only go to Barca and Barca were the only club in for him yet Liverpool still held out for a massive fee.

When we were in the EXACT same situation with Cesc we fucking capitulated for peanuts.

Plus when you see the size of this fee it really hammers home how much money we are going to shit away when Ozil and Sanchez walk away from THE BANTER CLUB for sweet fuck all :barscarf:
