Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
This is that start of things to come, wiggy has given up CL and just looking for that SKY tv money now.
He knows that it will cost about £300 million to get us back into the CL next year, and he aint spending that. next year everton will spend big, so will spurs, manure, cheslki, city, and liverpool why would he spend that kind of cash for a 6 horse race, when he don't care about football.

Balague saying we have a ‘big name’ lined up to replace Alexis.
Surely it’s Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. Names dont come much bigger than that one.

Exactly, I warned people about Kroenke in 2007 but instead you saw those f*ckwits with their "hate Usmanov" banners, Arsenal are finished now thanks to wiggy and the idiots who bought the whole positive spin propaganda around our "self-sustaining model", as well in no small part thanks to Wenger for playing the company man to a tee.AkneyGooner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:36 amThis is that start of things to come, wiggy has given up CL and just looking for that SKY tv money now.

I feel we are now going to follow a similar path to Liverpool who have not won the title for 28 years, I mean we're already halfway there..

Still no point getting angry, the best thing is to just walk away, watch the odd game on TV/Internet when you can be arsed and just laugh at the mess.
Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Except its going to be worse than Liverpool during that period because at the least the Mickeys have tried a few different managers, won the CL during that term and attracted some of the top names in football both as managers and players. They've come second a couple of times and carried on investing in the team. I mean £75m for Van Dijk I think is ridiculous but at least its an attempt at doing something under Kloppsk-gtfo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:14 pmExactly, I warned people about Kroenke in 2007 but instead you saw those f*ckwits with their "hate Usmanov" banners, Arsenal are finished now thanks to wiggy and the idiots who bought the whole positive spin propaganda around our "self-sustaining model", as well in no small part thanks to Wenger for playing the company man to a tee.AkneyGooner wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:36 amThis is that start of things to come, wiggy has given up CL and just looking for that SKY tv money now.

We on the other hand will tread the same path every year with SFB at the helm, supported by the same boring coaching team, the same approach to every game, the same lack of tactical prowess and the same two bob, no mark signings every window. We'll be doing that because neither the owner or CEO have a contact worthy of the name in European football and scared shitless of making a change. I said that about Gazidis years ago and still some posters on here - notably Quartz - defended him as a student of the game. He has done absolutely nothing for Arsenal and delegated even more power to Wenger which is unforgiveable. The longer Kroenke and Gazidis remain, the more powerful SFB's hand becomes and I can't believe anyone can still be in denial about that point
Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Looks like we could sell to Sanchez to man utd.
We're at such a low, forget the trophies we have won recently a lot of what we stood for has been surely chipped away. We and investment for the Kroenke family and a toy to massage Arsene's ego.
You guys are right, why would Kroenke invest money in a club he doesn't fully own when it's value will keep on increasing anyway. What's the point of the league title to him? I admire the scousers they kicked and screamed till they got Hicks and Gillet out and instead we get fans who will take anything the club does to us, and rather rebuke fans who complain. That's Farcenal!

I personally feel the short sightedness of some you is unusual, I support Arsenal and would really rather we don't end up being a mid-table team for the next decade or so. Whether Wenger goes summer '19 or '25 the end result is the same he's gone. However the squad he eventually leaves behind determines how long it takes before we become a successful football club again especially depending on who the Manager is that replaces him.
For ages now people have touted the line about how we can attract the top managers, well if thats the case i'd personally rather they were left with at least the semblance of a squad they can do something with rather than a squad which is filled with Wengers future transfer dealings ie Cohen Brammel types , experience tells us that a large transfer budget may not be easy to come by so the rebuilding of the squad will require some careful manipulation, the worse it is the more difficult and the longer it will take to turn around.
Wenger is just vindictive enough to start on one of his vanity projects prior to leaving and therefore leave his replacement with a lot of unnecesssary work to do so he can turn round and say 'look things were never this bad under me' and enough people will believe it and blame the new manager that his job will quicky become untenable. If you think things are bad now imagine how bad they can get with Wengers current 'skill' in spotting talent and replacing the underwhelming level of player we currently have

It would be even worse if he did fully own the club.Supagoon wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:37 pmYou guys are right, why would Kroenke invest money in a club he doesn't fully own when it's value will keep on increasing anyway. You are right about Liverpool though, at least they did something to remove the tumour from their club, at Arsenal we just accept mediocrity and therefore that is exactly what we'll be served up.
Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
I agree but I have a feeling (I hope) that any transfers taking place since last summer are being vetted by others at the club now and Wenger will have minimal say in transfer matters, I mean it doesn't really make sense for him to have the final say since he wont be here beyond 2019 (hopefully).GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:47 pmWenger is just vindictive enough to start on one of his vanity projects prior to leaving and therefore leave his replacement with a lot of unnecesssary work to do so he can turn round and say 'look things were never this bad under me' and enough people will believe it and blame the new manager that his job will quicky become untenable. Then again I wouldn't put it past TOF to go direct to wiggy and get decisions over-ruled in his favour..

I agree it seems he may not have total control over transfers now but he does have absolute control over playing them, positioning them and training them which is even worse....sk-gtfo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:53 pmI agree but I have a feeling (I hope) that any transfers taking place since last summer are being vetted by others at the club now and Wenger will have minimal say in transfer matters, I mean it doesn't really make sense for him to have the final say since he wont be here beyond 2019 (hopefully).GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 12:47 pmWenger is just vindictive enough to start on one of his vanity projects prior to leaving and therefore leave his replacement with a lot of unnecesssary work to do so he can turn round and say 'look things were never this bad under me' and enough people will believe it and blame the new manager that his job will quicky become untenable. As a club we are just drifting along and going nowhere. Our only two assets are too be sold and the current squad is piss poor. I think 6th places flatters us at the moment.
Even if Wenger fucks off, a new manager would have to have a complete rebuild. Sad thing is i think he would be given a shoe string budget to do it.
I just hope we don't become the next Newcastle, Aston Villa or Leeds Utd. A so called one time big club living on past memories.

Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
So after todays performance and seeing how bad our current crop of players are do you still think Wenger should be allowed to make thing worse

Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Its all coming together for a late, mad trolley dash. How much money can he spunk on shit this time
Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Some bloke called Oxlade Chamberlain scored for the mickies. He looks useful “sign him up”

Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Yes we are 6th by default - miles behind the top 4 which is now clearly (City, United, Liverpool & Chavs) but also behind Spurs, who lets not forget are playing their home games on 'neutral' ground this season which makes it even worse. Everton have flopped a bit and apart from that the rest of the teams are mediocre or rubbish.Rosie_titters wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2018 2:55 pmAs a club we are just drifting along and going nowhere. The saddest thing of all though is why this has happened, you look at Chavski and Etihad FC and the reason they are where they are now and not down with Leeds and Villa is that they were financial mismanaged and in debt. we have paid a heavy price for being 'sensible' which is what attracted vultures like Kroenke to the club.
Having said that the scousers managed to remove Hicks & Gillet who were of a similar ilk to the wiggy b*stard, so in some respect we only have ourselves to blame?.
If Gazidis had any balls he would walk into Kroenke's office and demand Wenger is sacked otherwise he would be offering his own resignation.. but he wont will he?, just like Wenger he knows how his bread is buttered.
